Diamond Hill Golf & Country Club
About
Diamond Hill Golf & Country Club in Dover, Florida stretches over rolling hills where there is no shortage of water. Dry greens are never a concern as water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course. The greens vary in speed from medium to fast and the fairways are lined with towering trees. In addition to the water, there are also numerous bunkers that are strategically placed throughout. The golf course has some challenging par 3s, especially if it is a windy day. With several holes playing over water and a few houses close to the golf course, well placed tee shots are essential to scoring well at Diamond Hill.

A wonderful gem in Brandon FL! (Brandon? Yes!)
Our foursome plays a different course every weekend (Sunday mornings). This past week we picked Diamond Hill and what a JOY it was. It's a challenging course than has HILLS, yes HILLS that shot placement is critical. The par-3's over water are deceptively hard, add a little wind and wow - FUN! We loved the course so much, we're going back this Sunday to challenge it again. Staff were wonderful and the conditions good considering it's winter here in Florida. A must play!
Golfing
The golf course was in good condition. This was my first experience golfing in FL, so I have nothing to compare it too.
Nice course
Friendly staff makes you feel right at home. Not crowded, but busy on a weekday afternoon. Beautiful views, challenging layout (where else are there two Par-6's for the ladies?). An enjoyable afternoon!
This fairways were bad
I wet to the club because they offered a bucket of balls before the game. They provided small bucket with around 15 balls. The day was windy and there were no sprinklers to get distances, only 150 and 100 markers in middle of fairway. Some hole badly oriented for single golfers because you can not see the ball into the sun.
The fairways were bare in many places. the greens were good and fast.
cow pasture
This course has a great lay out. Fair way are cow pastures and the greens are bumpy
THis is an OK course
Some of the greens need some work but over all the course was in decent shape.
Cost is high but
Course sure is fun for amateurs and excellent players. I do not understand why rate is higher than other comparable courses in area, but perhaps high demand is reason. I love the layout, and scramblling is possible aftet errant drives.
Price for this course is crazy !!!!
I have played this course 5-6 times before , this course is not worth $45.00 by far ! I booked my tee time on golf now and with the booking It came with a bucket of range balls , I arrived at the course 30 mins prior to tee time to hit the bucket 1. I was never offered my bucket I had to ask. 2. They were out of balls in the shop so the pro shop guy told me to walk down to the range and flag down the guy getting the balls off the range and he would get me my bucket , I did so for 20 mins and he never acknowledged me so I walked down and picked up a few balls myself . 3. When I was down I went to get my cart it was me and a friend that were playing together so we got the cart and went to the 1st tee , then 2 other guys come up in seperate carts and said they were told to join us to make it a four some after the front nine we stop to eat and drink and headed to the 10 th hole as we get there here comes another person and says he was told to join us on the back nine , so now we have a three some for the back nine !!! The first few times I played this course was $19.00- $25.00 which is what this course should cost ! IF I'm going to have to pay $45.00 I will be going to quail hollow !!!! Which is a $45.00 + course and worth every penny !!!
Fun Course
The course has holes with a lot of character.
The stall was very friendly.
Fun course to play
I live close to Diamond Hill and enjoy playing the course when I get a chance. Don't expect anything special here although the new owners have done a nice job of cleaning up the course and the clubhouse since they've taken over. The course has a fun layout with plenty of elevation changes, generally wide open fairways and some tough par 3's. Greens are hit and miss but they are much better than they have been in the past (which were pretty much unputtable). No problems with the golf shop staff, although I don't spend much time in the clubhouse, just there to play. I agree with a post below, the hot dogs are pretty darn good. If you're looking for something a little different to play and has some challenging holes, I would give this place a shot.
Diamond in the rough
I understand the course has new ownership. We have played it in the past and recognized its excellent bones but it was always in questionable shape. The standard comment was WOW this course could be really nice. New ownership has definitely made a difference but there are some expensive things that need to be done. Mainly leaking sprinkler line repairs. They have already cut down much of the trashy bushes that closed off views of the lakes etc. There is work to do but hopefully improvements will continue
Nice round with locals
Hot golf at Christmas. Course is mainly at good condition. There was alligator on the course, no birdies;)
One of the worst courses
The course has a great men's association but why they stay at a this course I have no idea. The new owners like to trim trees and plant new plants but have no concept on how to take care of the greens or fareways. It is a $20 course all day long. So many other course charging less that are 100% better condition. Don't waste your money.
Good value
The course plays longer than the score card with several long carries over water. The greens were moderate to slow but well maintained. Members were polite and let me play through as I was a single, pace was excellent.
Diamond Hill
Very friendly checkin and starter. Course conditions are average but very playable. Tees and bunkers good, fairways average, an occasional roll for a good lie, no rough, chipping areas good, greens roll at medium speed and most have some damaged areas but did not overly affect play. I only fealt I needed to take a different line on 1 putt by a couple of feet. Most of the greens were above average size. Layout was very playable, no houses, lading areas from tees open, pretty much right in front of you with some great par five's. Hole 9 is 600 yards, awesome, with three relatively short par 4's on the back nine. Didn't have time for drinks but the bar area looked nice. I'll get back there again.
Better then expected.
They had a mens league taking off before we started. I was amazed that the pace was great. The course has more undulation then most central Florida courses. I loved the speed of the greens and the fairway was a bit firm but very playable. Over all the course was in good shape and very playable.
excellent
I played last week with my friends.when we traveled to florida.
it was awesome. nice course condition.it is perfect
Improved conditions
course conditions much improved from 6 months ago I'll play here again
This course was above average except for the greens
I enjoyed everything about this course. The layout was really good for the available property. The staff were very friendly and helpful to a newcomer. Since there were very few golfers out, pace of play wasn't a problem.
The only sub-par item was the greens. It seemed that almost half of the greens had some kind of fungus or some other turf problem because there were lots of bare ground spots. The condition of the greens otherwise was really good, with balls rolling true and pace was above average.
