Diamond Hill Golf & Country Club
About
Diamond Hill Golf & Country Club in Dover, Florida stretches over rolling hills where there is no shortage of water. Dry greens are never a concern as water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course. The greens vary in speed from medium to fast and the fairways are lined with towering trees. In addition to the water, there are also numerous bunkers that are strategically placed throughout. The golf course has some challenging par 3s, especially if it is a windy day. With several holes playing over water and a few houses close to the golf course, well placed tee shots are essential to scoring well at Diamond Hill.

great layout
course is progressing in still need of work. greens were ok appears rains have caused some damage.if progress continues could be one of the better courses in the area. cannot recommend right now but will play again in about 4-6 months. staff very friendly and seem to appreciate your business
Course Improving
New owners are improving conditions, lots of new grass.
Best improvement would be better yardage indications on course.
Excellent course for the price
For the price and the proximity to Tampa, this course is the best I believe you can ask for. Layout is challenging and fun and the greens (almost all) roll true. Definitely can't play a Sunday round for 15 bucks anywhere else and play on their conditions.
Good for a round of golf.
The course has gotten a lot better now than it was in the past. It's an open course and really good any level of skill for a golfer. The tee boxes are not in good shape but everything else makes for a good round of golf for a good price.
Loving Diamond Hill
Wow is this place great! I can't say enough about the improvements to the course! I read all the reviews before booking and most are positive and spot on. Mreedy looks like he as an ax to grind and he clearly knows NOTHING about golf. They have the most talented Golf Professional in the Tampa area. Diamond Hill is doing a wonderful job in turning this place around. Do yourself a favor and go see the new Diamond Hill.... And if you see mreedy educate him on what a great place this is!
great course and friendly
good course and condition
I love challenge course and staff is so nice and friendly
Diamond Hill
No beverage cart, speed of play fair, absent golf etiquette from groups ahead, not my first choice for play
Slow in the front
Considering it was a holiday... I thought the play might have been slow the whole round but at the turn it opened up. Good time all in all.
goat pasture
don't book any lessons here. They won't honor them
Slipping....
Course conditions were really improving but in the last 3 weeks course conditions have deteriorated tremendously. Fairways that were filling in with grass are quickly reverting back to hardpan.
Pace of play also slower as tee times seem to be spaced closer together. Occasional ranger seen but they appear to be taking a leisurely spin around the course as opposed to trying to speed up pace of play.
Course layout is terrific with some really great holes and staff is friendly but current conditions and slow pace of play have forced our group to look elsewhere for tee times.
Hope they get back on track soon.....
Very impressed
I was impressed with the course. Some reviews had some negative comments but they were trending upwards. Ownership has apparently made an effort to improve the course from an apparent ugly mess. I will also say this...if you are looking for the quality conditions from a high end private club like Old Memorial or a high end resort like Streamsong, you will be disappointed. BUT, if you are looking for a quality golf course with plenty of shot making, THIS is a great place to start. Granted, the rough is tough and spotty, you are supposed to be in the fairway. The fairways were in great shape. The greens were also in great shape but very firm-- don't carry shots to pin high or they may go off the back of the green. Lots of bumps and humps on the fairways make for some challenging second shots. Don't bother trying to reach the par 5s in two if you play the back tees(6800 yards) because you WONT reach...they are looooong.
I played on a Wednesday at about 9:45 and was don't with 36 holes in 4 hours and 10 minutes. The service from the starter/ ranger and the proshop was genuine and sincere. They made me feel appreciated and I will most definitely be back soon.
Liked the Greens
Played by myself at around noon and finished 18 holes in under 2 1/2 hours. Very enjoyable being able to play at my own pace with no one holding me up. Greens had just been sanded, but I liked them taking only 27 putts for the round! Course is short from the white tees but very enjoyable as I only had wedge on many approaches after driving. Wide open diving areas! Course conditions were fine though not exceptional. Carts were nice electric ones.
Good value for the money, friendly staff
Good value for the money, friendly staff , remote location
On the way back
You can see improvements everywhere. Its a fun course to play, with great elevation changes. Wide open landing zones, and elevated greens that are in good shape. Bugs are a problem though.
Could benefit from more grass vs weeds
Very nice layout from the white tees. Greens were in good shape, but fairways could benefit from weed removal and more grass.
Rough should be allowed to grow a little to increase course difficulty. Rough is more weed than grass.
Up and coming gem
The staff was awesome and very informative on the changes that are happening to their course. They are under management and it shows with the care they are applying to make this course what it shows sign of, a gem. The course conditions weren't great but it was very obvious improvements were being made. The greens were in pretty good shape and rolled very true. The layout of this track is awesome, features a few very nice par 3s. Really has the makings to become a 5 star course. I will be back in the winter to check it out again during peak conditions. I'm confident it will be prime by January
Much Improved...
Lots of effort being put into the course. Greens are improved, fairways widened, trees trimmed. Great value.
Excellent improvement on course.
Diamond hill is under new ownership and management and this was the first time I had played there in a long time. In the past the course needed a lot of work. In the 4 months the new management has been in place it is amazing the improvement that have been made. Fairways actually have grass, greens are in excellent condition, course has been lengthened with one par 5 playing 605 from the white tees. Looking forward to seeing the courses condition next year. Will play there much more often.
I will be back!
First off, my experience at the golf course started off with meeting the Diamond Hill golf pro Greg. This guy won me over right away. Never felt so welcome to a golf course in my life. He explained the new ownership and how the place has been constantly improving. My buddy was late. No hassles, we jumped on the course when he arrived. The course itself was really fun for me. I'm pretty new and I loved the open fairways. The course was in great condition.I dont know what it looked like before, but you would never guess there would be complaints about the conditions prior. The water and long par threes made this course challenging for me. I already told my friends we're comng back here.
diamond hill
It's an okay course nothing special. Great for a fun day of golf, not for someone looking for great conditions and hard play.
