Diamond Hill Golf & Country Club
About
Diamond Hill Golf & Country Club in Dover, Florida stretches over rolling hills where there is no shortage of water. Dry greens are never a concern as water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course. The greens vary in speed from medium to fast and the fairways are lined with towering trees. In addition to the water, there are also numerous bunkers that are strategically placed throughout. The golf course has some challenging par 3s, especially if it is a windy day. With several holes playing over water and a few houses close to the golf course, well placed tee shots are essential to scoring well at Diamond Hill.

The Rock
Had a great round Sunday at Diamond Hill. I have been playing this course fro close to 15 years now. I have seen the good, the bad, the ugly and really ugly. They have definitely put some time and money back into the course and it shows. Fair greens, wide open at spots and a few very challenging holes. Don't forget to grab a Diamond Doggie at the turn. Best hot dog around.
getting better everytime we go back. Thanks for bringing it back
Turtle back greens and par threes over water with elevation changes make this the stand out course of the Brandon/Valrico area.Sand traps filled with sand and not stone chips was also a nice feature. If a young man named Anthony happens to join your group, well,be inspired to play better.(Sorry again ,Anthony,If we brought you down to our level of play)....Now somebody hire that kid a putting coach.
Very Nice Layout, BUT!
Very nice layout! But the condition of the greens ruined the course! Therefore the fees for the course were unreasonable!
Nice Course
Nice layout ..great staff ... Only negative was a couple of tee boxes were pretty chewed up ..will be back..
Unusual course for the Tampa area....lots of significant elevation changes
For the Tampa area this is a different course.....has many significant elevation changes. Not many small undulations in the fairways, but some big differences between tee and green (30-40 feet). Six holes have partially blind shot to the green due to the change in elevation.
My average conditions rating was due to a persistent light rain and heavy rains for the preceding two weeks. Course was very wet which is not the norm.
Most of the par 4's have 45 degree + doglegs. One par 5 is the longest I've ever played (600 yards).
It's definitely a fun course.
Great Shape love the practice area
I like the layout you get to hit every club in your bag!
Golfer friendly course off the tee.
I heard this course now has a new owner who is putting in a lot of effort to improve course conditions. I enjoyed playing the course and would go there again.
fun course
a wide open course that is fun to play. greens were not mowed the day i played but i think they were overseeding . i did have a problem with the pro shop, they overcharged me from the golf now price.
Course Shape
This always was a fav because of the layout! Makes you feel like you are not in Florida, playing another golf "pool table". With the new ownership there are no more fairways AND Green full of broadleaf weeds!! Green are in very good shape and there are no more 20 yard square patches of dirt (absence of grass)!
Book a time! Enjoy the golf!
some greens need work
There were some bare patches on 3-4 greens, but other then that the greens were very nice, decent speed and smooth. Definitely an improvement from a few years ago.
Great Layout
For the past 20 years I have always loved the layout!
It makes you feel like you're not in Fla, not the same old Florida FLATLAND G.C. At one time I was a 4 handicap, now at 65 and replaced hip and knee now a 12-14. Course plays Well from the blues to the whites to the golds.
It fell into bad repair for a few years so it became a once a year in expensive "let's give it a try" course.
I was told the greens were re-done (Great! because they used to have huge patches of broad-leaf weeds on them!) The fairways have been cleaned up quite well!! (used to be "oh well, let's just play like we are in the rough on every drive and have to "manufacture" a shot - 3" grass w/weeds and 50% dirt.) I'd definitely take a friend or group there now! once again...
Great Layout!!
Great course!
This is a very nice course. I used to work there 15 years ago when I was a young teen. I think the course has improved since then. Seems like they are taking better care now. Green too are in awesome shape. Highly recomended.
Grear everyday course.
We love playing here. The course is in good shape, has some difficult holes, and plays very well for the amount of play it gets. The pro shop staff is always friendly and helpful.
Course on the rise!
This course is a great lay out with the friendliest golf shop ever. Snack Bar staff needs improving!!!! A short haired lady is the most unfriendly person ever. The bar needs to learn from the pro. The course is improving as the fairways and wonderful. Greens need some work, but getting better everyday. This course is missing a beverage cart and I then would never have to come inside to that bar. Give Diamond Hill a try!
Still a tremendous value
Love the course, great staff! It was VERY wet from previous days rains so you needed to be careful when not on the paths. The rough is still rough--stay in the fairways. Greens are still really good. Only complaint is that there should have been a ranger out there but that's not enough to get a bad rating. Go play it, it's worth the $$
New owners very pleasant
I had not played here in about a year. Pleasantly surprised by the greetings of the new staff and owner. Lot of rain but course was in lot better condition with the new owners. Also nice to find course on golfnow for good price. Will be back again soon to play. I recommend you give it a try.
Getting Better...... still a ways to go.
D/H is under new ownership and has committed to improving the course. So far, the most noticable are the greens and general cleanup. Most greens are now very good with just a few that still need to grow in.
Considering the conditions before this effort, they have made some great strides but there is still much room for improvement. Many of the roughs are hard and bare, others are full of weeds (I know....don't play there!!) and at this time the bunkers are in desperate need of help.... many are full of water....not the fault of the course. I hope that as the weather gets better that progress will continue. This IS a great layout with actual elevation changes which is rare for this part of Florida. Keep up the good work.
This course has improved
The course has been considerably improved since the new owners took over. The fairways, greens and tees are in good shape.
