About
The Aquila Golf Course facility offers two golf courses; one is a championship length course while the other is a par-3, nine-hole course. The championship course provides an excellent game of golf for an affordable price. There are scenic views of mountains and downtown Phoenix as well as a challenging layout featuring several water hazards and bunkers. Although the terrain is rather hilly, it is still relatively walkable. The course has an excellent range of holes that each have a unique character, the par 5's are especially notable. Native grasses and wildflowers are also present on Aquila's Championship course, further adding to its natural beauty.

Best municipal course I’ve played
The mountain views and course conditions of Aguila are unmatched by any city course I’ve played in Arizona. Greens and fairways were in great shape for early August - tee boxes looked like they belong on a 5-Star resort course. For the $30 I paid to play here, there’s no better option in the entire valley. Will definitely be bringing all out-of-town friends and family here

Aguila Again
The course was in pretty good condition. They are getting ready to overseed so the greens had been punched but were recovering quickly. I really enjoy the course and will definitely be playing it again.

Unbelievable municipal/ city course!
The drive to the golf course starts with a park, you might think you are lost, but dont panic, you are in the right place. The road might turn you off as it is narrow and filled with walkers and slow drivers, but judge not for you will soon be delightfully surprised by this hidden gem in the middle of the Arizona desert. Parking lot seem to be a scenery of a football stadium, it is filled with many cars, a hint that this is indeed a favorite course for many golfers. Why not? This golf course is owned by city of Arizona, but it is maintained like a private course. The practice greens are awesome and are rolling great, and the chipping and pitching greens are immaculate. The driving range is wide and the grass are lush and healthy, you won't be hitting on a bald ground. Its August and it is understandable that courses in AZ are usually in less than average shape, but this course remain in great shape. You will be amazed to see just how well maintained the greens are and they roll perfectly for your Birdie. I didnt had a 3 putt because the greens are true greens, not a lot of damage or pitch marks that can derail your birdie putts. This course is not very long, but it surely make me feel better playing form the tips at almost 6500 yards. Dont be fooled, this course can be hard if you do not hit your balls straight, and watch out for 17, there is a water on the left that you can reach, learn it from my mistake, I hit a perfect drive, but the unsuspecting water swallowed my ball without my knowledge. I dropped for my 3rd shot and got it close to the pin for par, dont despair if your ball got on the water, the approach is short enough to save your par, just make sure you get the distance right. In the final analysis, nothing exist except the ***** 5 stars I give to this course, it should be an indication that you want to play this course. You won't be disappointed unless of course you didnt bring your A game, dont blame the water and your clubs, take responsibility that you need to spend time on the driving range to better your game. LOL...The majestic mountains of Arizona will be the backdraft of this superb municipal course, a city course that definitely change my perception of muNI's...Customer service was not bad either, and I am sure they have all the beers you need for a wonderful time, too bad I do not drink anymore. If you can birdie the difficult 18th hole, call me and lets have a match LOL(just kidding). Play Aguila, and hopefully a bald eagle will land on your scorecard, if not, be thankful for the hummingbird that took a sip on your bogey populated score card hahahaha...Just enjoy this course its beautiful and worth the money you spent, if you cant love this course, I dont know what will !!! Excellent Conditions
First time playing AGC. After two days of steady rain, the course was in excellent playing conditions. All surfaces had been or were being cut. Greens were very receptive to shots and rolled true. All tee boxes were level. Fairways were in fabulous shape. Can’t speak about the sand traps, as I was successful in avoiding them. Played as a single in 3 hrs. and 15 minutes, walking. Best conditions at a muni course I have ever played. Worth the 1 hour drive. Go soon to enjoy this gem for yourself.
