Course Highlights
Quintero's dramatic elevation changes and uniquely designed holes make it one of Arizona's most celebrated layouts. Welcoming staff and well-maintained conditions consistently reward golfers who make the scenic drive out.

About

Holes 18
Type Semi-Private
Style Desert/Traditional
Par 72
Length 7249 yards
Slope 148
Rating 75.3

Located in the desert just north of Phoenix and Scottsdale, the golf course at Quintero Golf Club is a challenge but with up to as many as nine tees per hole, it can accommodate golfers of all different abilities and handicaps. The rolling, desert terrain of the course features dramatic elevation changes for interesting play. The golf course's design has wide fairways and plenty of water hazards and sand bunkers. The most difficult hole is the par-5 8th hole, which plays uphill with three large bunkers alongside the right side of the lay-up area. Another difficult but noteworthy hole is Quintero Golf Club's third, which has a scenic lake to the left that sometimes tricks golfers into playing close to it with their tee shot for an easier second shot to the green.

Overrated

I’ve played a lot of great public courses in the Phoenix area and this one doesn’t even make the top 10. Not sure how they got their “top rating“. . Here’s my pros and cons:

Pros - a few nice elevated par 3’s

- decent range and practice greens

Cons - takes about 10 minutes to drive your cart to the range and/or the first tee and carts are pretty slow and dated

- most fairways were pretty brown and not in great shape

- there were hundreds of flies all over the course, there must be livestock nearby because it was horrible

- ordered food and the girl came with no napkins and no change for cash

- the cart guy was really rude when I unintentionally tried to drive my cart to my car and snidely asked me why I didn’t see the small sign stating it wasn’t allowed

- the course was more like a Disney world course with roller coaster rides and long waits.

Among Phoenix area's best courses

We played 5 courses (Quintero, Troon Pinacle, Boulders South, Southern Dunes, and Whirwind) in 2 days. Quintero was the group's favorite. Stunning views without any houses, superb course conditioning, and an interesting layout. Probably among the best collection of par 3s anywhere.

Top course in Phoenix area

Quintero is one of my favorite courses in the Phoenix (Peoria) area. In the middle of nowhere but worth the drive. Beautiful views and multiple elevation changes. Course was in excellent condition. A must play.

The best golf experience I’ve had in a long time!

Quintero is by far the best course in Arizona I’ve ever played! Wonderful conditions, great pace of play and super friendly staff. I would highly recommend the course to anyone who wants the best possible experience. Got a great rate from Golf Now and I will be looking for more opportunities to play there again in the near future.

Best course management in Phoenix

I Couldn’t believe the beauty and layout of Quintero! It’s got an awesome middle of nowhere feel but still accessible. I don’t think I’ve played a course better taken care of. Thanks Tyler!
