Stoneybrook East Golf Course
About
Located in Central Florida, Stoneybrook East Golf Course is a championship course that has all the signatures of classic Florida golf courses. Although traditional in design there are some modern elements that lend to the overall challenge of the course. The large fairways are naturally tree-lined and the generous greens are multi-tiered and undulating. The green are also immaculately kept. Preserved wetlands and waterways create hazards that come into play on a few holes. There is also abundant wildlife on the course. Stoneybrook East Golf Course features three sets of tees.

Don't confuse East and West
I decided to play this course because they had a member rate deal, and I thought it was in the same area as Stoneybrook West, which is at least on my side of Orlando. This is completely on the opposite side of town. Okay, my mistake.
The course is in pretty good shape. The greens are a bit soft (especially since we really haven't had much rain in the last week). The course layout would be impossible without carts (not that I think that is an option). Some long drives from one green to the next tee box through a combination of natural areas and housing development. The houses are well enough back from the course that they don't make it tight. Two or three holes with short forced carries (par 3s). For the most part water is lateral and hitting lines are fairly clear.
Played on a pleasant Sunday late morning (11:30) as a single. Saw one twosome in front of me on the first nine. They let me through on the 10th and I caught one threesome that let me through on the 14th. I finished the round in exactly 3 hours.
The course has great potential
The staff are great. The course itself was just not kept up as well as it should have been. Dead greens and fairways. Really like the layout of the course still a good outing but not living up to its potential.
Decent
No complaints. 3 of the greens were in pretty bad shape
Hopefully Getting Better
Positives: Course is being worked on by groundskeepers and their hardwork is beginning to show results.
Negativess: Bunkers have always been washed out and retain water. that is why several greenside bunkers have been filled in with sod.
Green 1-5 are still in deep need of repair from the fungus that eroded the grass. Back nine greens were pretty puttable and void of bare spots.
Going Downhill
The course was in much better shape a year ago. Fairways are overgrown with weeds and greens are in awful condition. Was happy a course was open after hurricane, but wouldn't go given other options.
Average
This course is in average conditions, some greens need work and in some holes there is no distinction between fairway and rough. I recommend it for an average player like me. I love this course, but for more seasoned players this course could be frustrating.
Declining course
Played Stoneybrook East years ago and the course was in terrible condition in comparison after playing 10/3/2024. Greens were a mess, fairways like a cowfield. Clubhouse deserted except for 2 people
Must be getting ready to close
Not the one to leave bad reviews but the course wasn't all that great. There are better courses for the same price in the area.
This course has a fantastic layout and helpful friendly staff.
However over a few years the green staff have had a number of issues to contend with . 12 months ago The green irrigation power unit was struck by lightning. This resulted in severely damaged most greens . This year they have had a Hurricane through the area a week earlier . Only after booking was i notified that several fairways were CPO and all others under 90 degree rule .
The fairways were truly waterlogged but the greens were totally shot . The worst I’ve ever played on .
I Understand a hurricane can cause severe damage but the greens were clearly dying and diseased well before this event . Putting was a waste of time .
To be charged full price ( over $ 45 for a course in this condition ) was outrageous.
Shame as this could be something really good but is in serious need of some cash spent on full green repairs.
Don’t waste your time going atm , impossible to play and enjoy your golf there currently
Mid week round discounted price
If I hadn’t gotten such a good deal on the tee time, I would’ve been disappointed on my round.
Most greens were undergoing refurbishing, rough was so thick I lost 2 balls just off the fairway. No water coolers or beverage cart on the course and only 1 comfort station between #15 & #16
Needs some TLC
The course needs some TLC. The constant rain have taken a toll on the course. I hope they get it back in shape soon. They need to adjust the price accordingly to the course conditions like other courses do.
