Course Closed
Unfortunately, this course is closed. The voicemail says "permanently". I'm hoping someone will purchase and restore this great tract. The condition has deteriorated over the years, but the layout is great.
I've been playing there since it opened in the 90s as we own a vacation home right across Lake Minneola.
It was convenient and a great test of golf for all skill levels. There are other options in Clermont, but Palisades was my favorite along with Sugarloaf Mountain which also closed several years ago.

Jewell in the rough
Course is going through some much needed changes. The character of the course is unmistakeable. Our support for the course for the next year will be paramount for us to have a class course in the future!!!!!

New Ownership
We played here in Jan/Feb and it had just gotten a new manager who had great plans. GolfNow had a really super low price so we booked. Found out that the course had been closed and just opened 2 weeks prior to our tee time. The course needs a lot of work, its not a bad layout, the greens - dance floor (as my husband calls it) - need to be weeded. If they can improve the greens, that would be a BIG plus. Seed/fertilize the fairways, it'll be a great course. Then they can work on getting the restaurant reopened - golfers need that 9th hole!!!!
Big disappointment
Course conditions have deteriorated badly this year.
Couldn't tell any difference between tee boxes, fairways and rough, mostly weeds and bare spots. Greens were spotty at best. Signs say "under new management.working to improve conditions" I hope so
Course Must Be Closing Soon
We have played this course many times in the past 7 years and ave had some memorable rounds. Conditions were always improving and it was looking positive for the courses future. This is the firsts time we've played here since Spring of 2015 and it was by far the worse conditions we've ever seen not only on this course but on any that we've ever played! The tee boxes were TERRIBLE and the greens had not been cut for 8-10 days! We couldn't determine the difference between the green and the fringe. The cups had grown in around the hole approx 1 inch which made it VERY difficult to put on and to even drop a put....
We had made a tee time thru GolfNow and upon arrival, ht manager proceeded to show his extreme displeasure for GolfNow and informed us that they don't honor GolfNow and haven't for months!!
Major development going on all around the course for future housing...won't be long before the houses will not only line the fairways but will be directly down the middle of them as well.

Checking Palisades Conditions Now
Fairways were horrible. Greens okay but not mowed and very slow and bumpy. No food service. Course seems to be deteriorating. We have played at least once over several years. It is getting worse.
Honestly golfer think twice before booking this course
Under new ownership as of last year and after speaking with other golfers very disappointed in this course.
The management are trying their best but are hinder by not enough golf carts (36) depleted by 10 am or shortly after.
Have part time maintance workers fairways average ,green very poor condition.
Thank you for the review, aa2033! We understand that waiting for a cart is frustrating. Unfortunately, prior management did not reserve enough before the season. However, we are getting in a shipment this month and do not foresee this being an issue any longer. We're also continuing to improve our conditions and hope you'll visit us again soon.
A good bang for the buck
Although 4 or 5 greens were in rough shape I still feel the overall condition of the course makes it a good value for what they charge to play it,

Golfer Beware
GolfNow needs to remove this course from their web site.
Waiting for golf carts ( only 36 carts on site) == fairways dry & hard as rocks, greens are starting to improve. Play this course for last three years, worst I have seen it.
Must give credit to manager & staff very friendly and try their best to accommodate each golfer.

Excellent Course
Palisades deserves encouragement and support. The golf architecture is excellent. The holes are all well-designed. Each one is different and presents good challenges for good golfers. The landscape is perfect for golf, and it is very scenic, with good views in every direction from the top of this relatively hilly course. The course is being revived after a decline, it seems. The greens are coming back well: perhaps four are still in poor condition, but the rest show lush growth. They are not cut short at this time, so they are VERY slow. They have interesting shapes and some have significant slopes and so they will be quite exciting to putt in due course. I found every single hole to be quite fun. Be patient and tolerant, for good work is afoot at Palisades. I say "thanks" for bringing it back to life!

We apologize for the lack of carts, orlando7. We are under new management now and will have a full fleet this March. We hope you will come back out and play us again soon.
Good course for the money
Palisades is a memorable course. Played it one time last year and I could remember almost every hole. The course is not friendly to poor players with its long forced carries and fairly tight fairways. Fairways were in good shape and the short rough easy to play from. Greens were in poor shape this year with many pock marks making it difficult to get a true roll. That all said it is a good day to be on the course.
We really appreciate the great feedback, leardfam. We're continuously working on our conditions to create the best possible experience for our golfers. We hope you'll be out here again when you're back in town.
Wait for Carts
Have played this course several times--just because of great price on Golfnow Layout is nice, course condition is getting better every time. Had to wait almost an hour for carts to come in==busy day and not enough carts for everyone. Fairways still rough, several nice par 3's and par 5's

Horrible
Arrived at 10:29 for an 11:56 tee time. Checked in, when to get a cart...none there. Cart girl was talking to my husband, they were out of carts, 3 carts were broken and any chance of getting a cart would have been 2+ hours.....have you ever heard of such a thing?!! NO CARTS!!!! Hmmmmmm,visit wonder how they treated their members!!!
Shashi, we sincerely apologize for the lack of carts. Unfortunately, our previous manager did not reserve enough carts for the busy season and there were none to lease. That manager has since been let go.
We have purchased an additional 7 carts but due to the season, those won't be delivered until March. Please know that next season we will have an additional 20-30 carts for busy season because I have actually signed the agreement with Yamaha already to have them delivered no later than December 15, 2016 to be used thru March. Not to mention our bar/restaurant will also be open and, as the daily players know, the course has been getting better by the week with respect to the greens, fairways and overgrowth.
I hope you can understand the issues we are up against because of the previous manager and hope after my sincere explanation and apology you can give us another try. If possible during the next month or two if you can book your tee time before 11:30 am you will get a cart without issue.

Course layout is great, challenging and fun! Greens are a bit out of shape but still role.

Getting better
Played today and this course had improved Since the last time I played 3 weeks ago..the staff is putting every effort to make the greens in tip top shape. There are still 2 greens that need work but all in all they are as good as other courses in the area. The layout is tough as it comes. I recommend to play from the gold tees. The whites and tips is very difficult and I have a 5 handicap. Go give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Layout
One of the Best course layout I have played in Florida. It has some great holes that you really have to think about were to hit your tee shot and approach into the green.
