Palisades Country Club

One of the Best course layout I have played in Florida. It has some great holes that you really have to think about were to hit your tee shot and approach into the green.

played this course today. My oh my it's tough. Layout is unbelievable awesome. Ok...there are two greens that need some love and care but the other 16 are as good as any other course around here. My opinion play from the Gold tees that's around 6200 yards or bring an extra sleeve of balls if you play from tips or whites. Give this course a chance it's improving week by week. The staff and grounds keepers gets a thumbs up from me. This club has been neglected years passed but staff is getting it back in tiptop shape. Congrats. Watch out for the fire ants. May want to hire pest control for a day or two and spray the ant hills.

Such a shame a nicely designed course is in terrible shape. Greens are so loaded with bare spots and disease we used automatic 2 putts on every green. Looked like greens and fairways had not been mowed in several days...

Reminds me of Rock Springs Ridge course right before it closed...

This was the first time we'd played Palisades as don't usually venture this far north. Didn't know what to expect as heard various opinions on the condition of the course - mostly, not so good.

As far as I'm concerned, the condition of the course is the number one criteria...and this was in reasonable condition, albeit the greens certainly needed attention - 3 or 4 greens were very poor, almost to the point where I wondered was it worth putting! This didn't stop us having a pleasant round of golf.

However, don't let this put you off! The course layout is very good, with some really interesting holes. The fairways were pretty good having been recently cut. Teeing areas were OK also. Bunkers had been well raked, but a bit scrappy around the edges - but not unlike many Florida courses.

One of the friends I played with, commented it was the best condition he'd played it in the last four years.

Cart paths were a little uneven...and gas carts sort of annoy me ...but again, didn't affect the game.

With a little bit more work, this could be an even better course. Sort those greens out (particularly the poor ones)..and this should be a 'must play' course. I will certainly be visiting here on my next visit.

This course was closed for over a year and probably should have stayed closed forever. The fairways are all burnt and pocked mark. The greens are deplorable. You have to put over pock marks and mud spots, and that is usually only a three foot put, any longer and its like putting thru mini-craters. I never saw my straight put jump so many times in one round. Take this course off of GOLF NOW before many more people are disappointed.

For the price I paid this was a really enjoyable afternoon spent golfing, although the course was not in tip top condition, it was playable and it was not expensive. Some challenging holes driving over water, friendly staff but no club facilities on the day I went, but still well worth the drive out,

Drove by there today and it has closed and looks abandoned. Previous management had worked hard to restore this layout to a very playable course. Management change stopped maintenance, cut rates and lost business. No one wants to hit off of dirt and weeds and bare greens.

This is the first time I've played this course. I found it to be both fun and challenging. The holes vary greatly compared to other places I've played. The course conditions weren't spectacular and the greens still need some time, but overall it was okay. If you're up for the challenge of ball placement, than take one out of your bag and see how many holes you can hang on to it for. There are many holes where the golfer can choose their own level of difficulty. These holes are separated from their tee by a variety of obstructions that require the golfer to decide just how close he wants to come to tempting fate . The course is relatively merciless when it comes to missed hits, but If you don't mind having some fun and perhaps loosing a few balls, than perhaps you would enjoy playing a round or two. I know l did.

This was my first time playing this course and after reading some older reviews I would have to say the course is improved. There are some greens that are still a lil rough, tee boxes were in decent shape and the fairways were also in decent shape. For the price you can't go wrong very challenging course great layout wonderful scenery. I will definatly play again.

The shear fact that they charge any amount of money to play here is laughable. The fairways are passable. But after that its terrible. The greens were bumpy, missing grass, and had holes all over them. They are the absolute worst greens I've ever seen in my 25 years playing golf.

Despite the previous review, the course is in much improved condition. The club closed for 3 weeks for overseeding (lost revenue) and the results are evident. Tee boxes, fairways and greens all look and play much better. Is it perfec? no but I think for $20 with the design and conditions, that is a bargain

Course conditions were horrible. You could not tell the difference between the fairways and the ruffs. Greens were so bad with holes that it wasnt even worth putting once you made it on.. To pay 40 dollars for 2 people plus 8 dollar booking fee is a crime. This course should not even be offered cause it definetly was not a hot deal.

The tee boxes were in poor shape , the fairways were not cut or manicured and the greens you could not putt on them, there was no water in coolers or drink carts I felt ripped off playing this course because we should have been told about the extremely poor conditions.

I have played this course over the years & this is the worst condition I have ever experienced on any course in FL.
The T boxes are full of weeds & ant hills. The fairways are in the same or worse condition. The greens should be called weed & dirt patches which also include many ant hills.
The condition is sad for a course that has the potential to be beautiful.

We received a very friendly welcome in the Pro's Shop, but were horrified at the state of the course! The fairways are covered in weeds and it is like playing all shots from the semi-rough. The greens are parched and weed ridden. Some have almost half the green worn away. We played around $19 dollars with fees and taxes, through Golfnow.com. Sadly, we feel that even a charge of $10 per person would be excessive with the course in such appalling condition at present.

I used to play this course quite frequently and it's sad to see it bascially become unplayable. The layout is great, but the course conditions are so bad that you can't tell the difference between the fairways and the rough, OR the greens for that matter. A lot of the greens are lumpy and there's no way to putt on them. Some of the pin cups weren't even with the green and the edge of the pin cup stopped my ball from going in the whole twice due to it being uneven. This is sad because the views on this course used to be awesome and they've let it go to the point where it's unrecoverable. I won't be surprised if this place is closed permanently sometime in the near future because there weren't many people on the course and it was a Saturday! I saw the bad reviews but chose to play anyway because I love the course so much. I'd be so happy if they could recover this course, but I just don't see how.

What is the point of playing here? They have ran this place into the ground so bad, it would take way more than they are willing to putin to it to fix this pasture. I love how management says its hard to keep up in the summer. Really? Thats your answer? If didnt notice this is florida and there is a course on about every corner. They have the same problems except they dont shut down and neglect the course to where ita almost not recognizable as a golf course
I feel sorry for the people who bought a house there and cant enjoy a membership at their home course. So dont bother guys its a complete waste of time and you will just be upset on the end. Too many courses to give these guys any money.

bad need of a lot of work: tee boxes, fairways, and greens!!!!!!

For the last two years my wife and I have taken a membership for the month of march while we were in that part of Florida on vacation. We are from nova Scotia and have been goingdown for five years now. We have always found the staff to be very helpful and polite. This past march we found that the course was in very good condition. We golf quite a lot in the ten weeks we are in Florida and look forward to returning to palisadpalaces in March of 2016. Mick & Lill O'Hearn
