Carved from a forest of pines and winding through wetlands and lagoons, St. Johns Golf & Country Club offers a scenic 18-hole round located between St. Augustine and Jacksonville. The course features tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens. There is also the occasional two-tiered green to look out for. Water hazards come into play throughout and there are several well-placed bunkers. Depending on how the wind is blowing, the course can range from being gentle to very demanding. Six sets of tees make the course accessible to players of all skill levels. In addition to the course, St. Johns Golf & Country Club also offers extensive practice facilities including a 10,000 sq. foot putting green, chipping green, and a double-sided driving range.

Great course!

We really enjoyed playing St. John's this week and found the course to be in good shape considering Florida is in a bad drought. We liked the nice touches of being offered bottles of water at the start and from the on course ranger in the middle of the round.

Good Day

Played this course many times and it’s been in better shape. It’s not about the greens, they’re in very good condition. The course has just not recovered from the winter frost kill, and on top of that the area is suffering from drought conditions.Fairways are extremely sparse and tight. I’m sure conditions will improve once some rain appears.

DISAPPOINTING

Having read the reviews after the course renovations I was expecting more. We’ve played this course every year when we come down for THE PLAYERS. This year the course was very dry and conditions were below average for our experience here. The staff was friendly, the new driving range was nice, and the carts were very nice. We paid $159 per player through Golf Now which was about $100 more than it was worth given the conditions.

Returning to form

Course is much-improved from 6 months ago. Greens are smooth and fast, fairways are winter-thin but well-maintained. New TopGolf range looked inviting, but did not use it. Food and beverages after our round were excellent and fairly priced.
