Carved from a forest of pines and winding through wetlands and lagoons, St. Johns Golf & Country Club offers a scenic 18-hole round located between St. Augustine and Jacksonville. The course features tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens. There is also the occasional two-tiered green to look out for. Water hazards come into play throughout and there are several well-placed bunkers. Depending on how the wind is blowing, the course can range from being gentle to very demanding. Six sets of tees make the course accessible to players of all skill levels. In addition to the course, St. Johns Golf & Country Club also offers extensive practice facilities including a 10,000 sq. foot putting green, chipping green, and a double-sided driving range.

Under Construction

Got an afternoon tee time for $35, compared to the $109 you’d pay on a Saturday morning. Driving range is under construction so we hit off of mostly sand. Course was in good condition and the greens were rolling. Fun holes and some well placed sand trap. Definitely worth $35, not sure about over $100 though… can’t wait to play it when everything turns back to green.

Great Day of Golf

Greens were in great condition and rolled fast and true! Buckle up for the Par 3 13th and the closing three holes … all part of a fun but challenging day of golf!

Ranger needed

I like everything about St. John’s. The staff is wonderful. The golf course is good. It’s a great value, but they need a ranger that goes around and tells people to play faster. I was behind a group and one of the people in the group works at St. John’s and they held up the entire golf course For the whole 18 holes even came to the first tee 10 minutes late and they were painfully slow and made no effort to play faster, even after complaints

The course is good, but way overpriced

120 dollars for this course is absolutely absurd. It is a good course but that much money is ridiculous. Greens roll fast but have dry patches, ranger and starter are very friendly.

Great course but very busy

All was good except no carts were available when we arrived. Also no outdoor place to get food and drinks at the turn or near driving range. Had to go all the way to the clubhouse into the restaurant for food. The course is great just a few bumpy greens but great layout and generally good fast greens.

Pace of play sucked.

Golf course was a great layout. Greens were dormate not it greatest shape. Pace of play was terrible no rangers ever seen. Took 5 hours. Not an $85 course more of a $50 considering the conditions.

Starter was lost

Started off on front 9 - good pace of play. Starter decided to let multiple groups tee off on back 9 bringing play to a halt. 4 groups on a tee box. Never seen anything like it. STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU LIKE SLOW PLAY AND OTHER GROUPS UP YOUR @$$!

Worth Playing

Greens were a bit firm and fairway grass was a bit off color but may have been due to close mowing or lack of rain. Back nine was challenging.

The staff is what separates this course from many others I’ve played at. They are all super friendly! The course layout and conditions are great. I’d play again anytime I’m in the area.
