Nice Course / Layout
Course is a lot of fun to play with hazards and traps plentiful. Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape but soggy due to the weather. The greens were fair to poor with bumps and intrusion through out. Made it difficult to judge speed and line. Reasonable price for the loop.
The course has seen better days
Always loved playing this course and since moving away from the neighborhood had not played for 2 years. I expected it to be a wet course and had called earlier to find out if it was cart path only. Started of 10th. Fairways were as expected (good) but greens were unlike previous visits. I assumed it’s one off, unfortunately it was the case with all the greens. They are puttable and fast( cut low to compensate for multiple surfaces) That was not a problem until we reached the 18th hole and the rain got very heavy. After 20 minutes we decided to call it a day. I walked to the pro shop and that is where I met a gentleman working behind the counter and has been for awhile who I recommend to take customer service 101. He was rude and very proud of himself as he told me his name, while the assistant pro just sat there with a blank look. Condition wise,I feel it is going the route of the other 2 courses within 2 miles of them which is sad to see. My golf partner received our rain check which had stipulations on how to use which did not make any sense. If you book on line don’t expect to get a rain check but a credit towards future green fees and has to be paid at the course
Run away
The greens on this course are some of the worst I have ever Played on.
Very Good for the Money
I saw the previous reviews and was concerned but the price was right.
I thought the range, tee boxes, rough and fairways were in great shape.
Yes the greens had multiple grass types on some holes … but very puttable.
Terrible rain check policy & rude older man in pro shop
Got rained out on the 6th hole. Staff in pro shop said, "We will refund half your round." I asked what that meant. He replied, "You will get that amount off your next round, but can't be used online."
That means: I paid $60 on Golfnow to play there, got in 5.5 holes (less than 33% of what I paid for) got a receipt that says $30 off next round (so they kept 17% for chits and giggles I guess) and have to book their rack rack at the course (minimum $72) to use my $30 refund RECEIPT!
Yah, no thanks!
Good conditions all around
The course was in good condition. The Greene were good. The fairways and tee boxes were also in good condition. Can’t wait to play here again.
Great layout terrible greens
The staff is very friendly, Raymond the starter a joy to talk with. Said they were preparing to re-do the greens in May. Easily see on the first hole why the greens need to be replaced. Holes cut out of some greens to patch other greens. Several different type of grasses on the green no consistency. Yes they were recently punched and sanded but I’m not basing the poor greens on that.
Play another course
Greens were aerated, lots of invasive grass on the greens, fairways have been mowed down so the overall course condition is very poor. Do not waste your time and money here. This might be a playable course in a couple of months.
Give it a couple weeks
Greens looked like they had been aerated in the last couple weeks. Not terribly bumpy, but every single green (I'm talking all 18) had patches of grass that did not belong. Definitely affects how the greens roll. The fairways must have also been recently punched as well, but played fine. Tee boxes and bunkers were all great. Seems like in a couple more weeks everything should be in much better shape.
Course under repair - Stay away for now
I moved to FL 4 years ago and this course has always been a go-to for a great round on a nice layout with usually very good conditions. HOWEVER...they had some issues this year with some patchy grass getting onto their greens. And they are now battling that grass and trying to get their smooth fast greens back. It will take a while.
The day I played they had just punched the back nine the day before and were punching the front nine that day. So I paid for 18 in advance on golfnow and when I get to the course, they inform me of this and tell me I have to play the back nine twice.
The course (greens mostly) was almost unplayable. The fairways were also aerified/cut and were pretty burnt out, and the rough on most holes had not been mowed for a WHILE.
Needless to say...I will not be back for a few months while they try to get the course back in shape.
Air-rated
Greens were I. Bad shape paid on golf now nothing was said about the greens course normally in great shape had to play back nine twice
