St. Johns Golf & Country Club

About
Carved from a forest of pines and winding through wetlands and lagoons, St. Johns Golf & Country Club offers a scenic 18-hole round located between St. Augustine and Jacksonville. The course features tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens. There is also the occasional two-tiered green to look out for. Water hazards come into play throughout and there are several well-placed bunkers. Depending on how the wind is blowing, the course can range from being gentle to very demanding. Six sets of tees make the course accessible to players of all skill levels. In addition to the course, St. Johns Golf & Country Club also offers extensive practice facilities including a 10,000 sq. foot putting green, chipping green, and a double-sided driving range.

Rainy Day at SJG&CC
Signed up for 9 holes due to weather conditions. Course presented itself as good as usual. Recommend this course.
Always Consistent
My third time playing St. John's in 2024 and each time it has been consistently really good. Tee boxes are not all beat up like Julington Creek. Fairways are green and clean unlike Hidden Hills. Greens are challenging and roll true and not hairy like Cimarrone. The hole layouts are unique and difficult unlike the staleness at South Hampton.
I've played 25-30 rounds of golf in Jacksonville in 2024 on public courses and in my opinion Queens Harbor is the only public course that is slightly better than St. John's.
Better the second time
The first time I played, I was not overly impressed. On playing the second time, I changed my opinion.
Good conditions, good layout. Enjoyable round.
Great Layout, but poor conditions
The golf course is very well layed out and have amazing staff members. My only disappointment was the fairway and greens conditions. Fairways are burnt out and the greens are very patchy.
What happened
There loosing the fairways and rough all over the course.
Greens are uneven due to two grasses growing on them
It’s not worth the money.
Love this course
If you like to pay a course with fast greens and well maintained fairways, then you will love the course. Also has plenty of bunkers and water in play. Number 13 and 17 are big challenges.
Thanks
Carlos
Too expensive for the quality
Came from out of town to play a round and paid $85…the layout was great and provided a good challenge however, charging people $86 to play and more than half the fairways and roughs are dead grass and the greens are also dead and it’s the middle of summer. I personally wouldn’t play here again until they fix the course conditions
Use to be one of the best courses
Course obviously had something spread all over, which is killing all the grass on fairways and rough. Greens have two different grasses growing on them which makes them bumpy uneven. I use to love playing this course, won’t get me back there until conditions improve on greens, fairways and rough. Sad to say the value is not there anymore.
Gunter P

Hi Gunter!
Thank you for your recent visit to St. Johns! The recent drought and extreme temperatures that have plagued our area have been detrimental to our course, which has a limited water resource. You may have noticed the depleted water levels in our ponds during your visit. Fortunately, rain has been more frequent lately, easing the burden on our supply and providing much-needed relief. We expect our fairways and rough to rejuvenate quickly.
We would love to hear more about your round. Could you please reach out to us at info@stjohnsgolf.com? We would be happy to answer any additional questions you may have as well!
Thank you.

Incorrect. Lack of water. They had to prioritize what got watered with what they have left. Nature can be relentless sometimes, obviously.
Gone is past glory
SJGCC use to be one of the best maintained courses in the city. Those days appear to be long gone. Fairways are bad. Greens were ok. 9:49a tee time. Behind 10 mins. Took 5+ hours to finish. Never saw a ranger. Biggest travesty is charging $95 on a Friday and never mentioning most of the course was cart path only. So very disappointing.
Course was just ok today
Tournament was played Walter in day they were so far behind cause there was no other respect for other people in front of us 3 players 1 thru 5 hole which took us nearly 2 hours causing us too have to be behind not have a enjoying round of golf fighting lightning thunder and pouring rain nobody seem to move them along why have them out there watching pace. Place is a kids driving golf carts on trails speeding hanging off carts I had not played here in a while and for sure will be a while before I return
