Chestatee Golf Club

First time here, I got teamed with complete strangers but it worked out great. Had a blast playing here. Course is tough but fair. Greens were in great condition. Beverage cart was fully stocked, they even had hot chocolate! Didn't have to wait on the group in front of us and the guys behind us never pressed us.

I think caused by people out front of us playing the wrong tees. Chestatee is not a short course and the blues are too much for higher handicap players and they slow everything down.

We really like Chestatee, it's always in good condition, greens play well. Pace of play this week was good for 14 holes, then absurdly slow when we all caught up with a tortoise 4 ball. Good value.

Played several times and generally enjoy it every time. However they need to put more sand in their traps without rocks. It’s crazy to have to scratch up your club face and also have your club bounce off sand when hitting in them. Please fix this!

Check in was easy. Ended up golfing solo for the front 9. Not sure why but pace of play SLOWED way down on the 10th hole. Got stuck behind a foursome that spent too much time looking for errant balls. Apparently a pair and another foursome in front of them weren’t helping the situation. Course was in great shape. Snack cart made at least 2 rounds during my play.

Booked a Hot Deal at a good, not great price.

Get to the course to check in and a notice saying that play would begin on the 10th Hole was at the counter...the very rude guy at check-in informed me that the front was closed for aerifying the greens. I told him that this wasn't posted to Golfnow, and that I wouldn't have booked there had I known. He didn't care at all.

Then I asked for range balls to warm up on the awful driving range...he should have comped them, but didn't.

The course is fun, but the staff is unfriendly.

On our second time on the 10th tee there were 4 groups of 4, which included a group of players from a small college team who acted like they owned the place.

I did get paired with a great guy, and we both played well; Chestatee is a fun course. Just don't expect to be treated like a valued customer.

Did not know that the front 9 greens had been aerated and sanded. Played the back 9 twice and backed up on 10.

Slight mess up on my tee time through Golf Now but it all worked out. The golf course was in excellent shape the greens were just flawless would recommend to anyone to go play this nice layout.

Pace of play was horrific on the front 9. We had a foursome in front of us with only three bags. They didn't know where to park around the greens/they were slowing not only us but the groups behind us...they had at least a hole and a half open infront of them...We played the front side in 2:45 minutes and the back in 1:30...

Love this course but will probably find another for a round on a Friday afternoon. 10-15 min wait on every hole. Agonizing. Other days don't seem to be as bad when the starter is in control.

I play Chestatee about once every two weeks or close thereto. They always have favorable Hot Rate Deals and it's an enjoyable course. The dry weather has taken its toll on the course like many others, but nevertheless it's in good condition. Tee boxes are overall good, fairways are dry but good, and greens are good. The only negative was the condition of the sand traps. Not a lot of sand in many of the traps and if you are not very careful, your club head will skip off the base, maybe an inch below the surface, and you will shoot the ball over the green. Please, take care of the bunkers.
