Chestatee Golf Club

As a Texan visiting the area I was not accustomed to playing so much elevation change. That made the challenge a little tougher on me, but I've no room to complain about the course, it was beautiful, fare, and well maintained. I may need to get back over to Gainesville so I can get more familiar with the course in order to end up with a more favorable scorecard!

Scenic mountain vistas. Excellent conditions, although the greens were somewhat slow. A lot of elevation changes made for blind tee shots on the uphill holes. Well worth the trip to North GA.

The course was nice, the staff...no way. For $80, there are better places to play. The Marshall kept saying we are behind and there are 200 people waiting, yeah right, not in best dreams. Finished exactly in 4 hours and never had anyone waiting on us. Never again

This is a decent course but the staff in the starter terrible. Play the force and that started at 8 o’clock and we finished by 12:20. Every time we ran into the starter I scolded us like children and said we had to pick up our level of play even know not once was anyone behind us. They even went as far as to break up the force them into two twosomes as if that we’re gonna make a difference. Still no one behind us. Save the money and go to a nicer course. Not worth the hassle of being rushed through your $80 round. Poor management.

layout is very good overall. Good condition greens were very good.

I have played this course a couple times before in the winter and spring and it was in great shape. It is a nice course with some very challenging holes and very enjoyable, however on these occasion the greens were not good; they had lots of weeds (like crab grass??) and some dried spots that made making puts very difficult. Also the speed was inconsistent among holes. Pace of play was good, I had to wait in many holes because I was a single behind a foursome so I played 2 balls in most holes. I will play it again and hopefully the greens issues will have been corrected

I recently played the course in February and it was in perfect condition. I’m not sure what changed but the greens are awful now. They are so bad, I would compare them to Countryland or Sugar Hill. The bunkers have no sand. It almost gets the feeling they are in the middle of selling off the land. Not worth the money to play here for me.

Very good day of golf with nice conditions and good pace of play. $5 for 11-15 range balls is kind of absurd, but other than that, I enjoyed it.
