Swiss Fairways Golf Course
About
Located just west of downtown Orlando in Clermont, Swiss Fairways Golf Course utilizes the wide open and hilly terrain that is typical for that area, but uncommon throughout the rest of the state. Large greens welcome low handicappers while strategic bunkering is incorporated into the layout to add some challenge. There are over a hundred sand traps in total and 10 water hazards come into play. Swiss Fairways Golf Course has a relaxed, casual atmosphere that is far from the typical country club environment. Although it is relatively unknown, the Swiss Fairways Golf Course will most likely grow in popularity due to its affordable rates and interesting layout.

204 yard (blue tee) Par three third hole Photo submitted by Edpro on 07/08/2013
Not as good as it used to be
We have played this course numerous times but not since Covid. The biggest shock was that we found holes 10-18 had been closed and completely overgrown. The course is in a lovely setting but the fairways and greens have many weeds. There is a lack of signage which could confuse anyone who has not played the course. After hole 9 we drove across the road to look for the 10th hole. Unbeknown to use holes 10-18 closed 2 years ago. Unfortunately, we were not told at check in. It is advertised still as an 18 hole course with a scorecard showing 18 holes but in reality it is 2 x 9 holes.
Took my son to play a round together. I’ve played this course several times and find it adequate for our abilty.
Few other golfers played yesterday and the weather was cooperative. Enjoyed getting out to play again. Have been sidelined for a while so I enjoyed getting to play again.
Great Value
I have played quite a few value priced courses around Clermont and for your money this is the best one. If there is one better I haven’t found it. The water hazard challenges are outstanding. My only complaint would be all the pine needles on the greens. Simple fix with a leaf blower every morning and problem solved. Other than that I genuinely really enjoy playing this course.
Good place to practice
I have played Swiss many times. The Pro Shop has a lot of options for purchasing. The staff is always friendly. The course is not in the greatest place, but adequate for the cost of play. Love to take may kids there to learn.
Only 9 holes.
If you're content to play the same 9 holes twice this your spot.
Pasture
Better of playing in a goat farm, at least the goats would keep the grass in check. 9 holes twice is terrible when the course is in the worst shape I’ve ever seen it.
Great Date
My wife’s first time playing and the course is perfect for a beginner. We had a great time.
Great layout
Short enough for senior players. Still very long from the tips. Water trouble on a couple holes that keep things interesting.
Disappointed
The dropping of the back nine make this course worthless. Good holes are lost. The front nine is too crowded and not worth playing twice. The course attracts hackers and real golffers avoid it.
Fine enough for the money
This will probably the most inexpensive course you will find in the area. The course is not in the best of shape and you play the same 9 holes twice. If you are ok with that, this course is fine for the money. Greens are bumpy with weed patches and lack of daily care. Some really challenging Tee shots and the hole that runs alongside the water skiing course is really cool. Great course for youth and people just out for a casual round.
Pleasant surprise
Not sure what I was expecting but from the YouTube drone video looked pretty good and at a good price. I was looking for a course near Clermont, Florida with a 9 Hole option and Swiss Fairways had just started offering this. Played another course nearby but it needed a lot of work but this place was in good shape does need some additional love but it played well and posed enough of a challenge. Hole 2 has a canal and there were water skiers driving by!! John Crocker, GM and PGA Pro was there at the Pro shop when we arrived and filled us in on the course and some upcoming improvements that they were making. Love this guy, great ambassador to the game and to Swiss Fairways. I will definitely be back. Truly a hidden gem.
