Swiss Fairways Golf Course
About
Located just west of downtown Orlando in Clermont, Swiss Fairways Golf Course utilizes the wide open and hilly terrain that is typical for that area, but uncommon throughout the rest of the state. Large greens welcome low handicappers while strategic bunkering is incorporated into the layout to add some challenge. There are over a hundred sand traps in total and 10 water hazards come into play. Swiss Fairways Golf Course has a relaxed, casual atmosphere that is far from the typical country club environment. Although it is relatively unknown, the Swiss Fairways Golf Course will most likely grow in popularity due to its affordable rates and interesting layout.

204 yard (blue tee) Par three third hole Photo submitted by Edpro on 07/08/2013
Too much went wrong , first show up for tee time after calling 2 days ahead to ask about aerification, to be told sure come play we know how to do it, To be told you can only play the back nine twice , would have been nice to tell us that before booking, a 45 min rain delay hampers our round only to have a greens keeper accuse us of 'you must be board out here just driving around playing as much as you like ...this was at 230 pm on a 1110 am tee time, after a 45min to 1hr rain delay?? If you wanted to close the course for the day just close it and refund my tee time !!! Extremely Disappointed!!! Will not be back !!!!!
Love The Course
Shot an 84 from the Blue Tees which is a good game for me.
I contribute it to the very forgiving course. Well maintained and always priced right on GN. Will definitely be back.
Golfer, beware of 4 Star Rating for this course!
I have played this course before, it was OK all along but this last time on 5/16/2020, the money I spent to play and all the tolls and the mileage I put on my car was just not worth our time (we were a foursome and drove from Orlando).
I was convinced that 4 star rating must be given by local players to lure people to the course so it stays in business for them! Folks, tee boxes are in terrible condition, all sand-no grass. There are no fairways but grazing lands for cows and sheep to eat weeds. Worst yet, the greens must be sick because there are patches of dead areas and the rest is just one large bumpy land for the golf balls to get airborne, literally.
This course is only 1-star and I bet you it will remain that way for me unless the management actually spends money on recovery efforts to turn back this once a good, challenging course to its original status.
One of my favorites
I like the layout of this course and try to golf here whenever I’m in the area. The greens and fairways were in good conditions. I also rate the cleanliness of the bathrooms a 10. Us women really appreciate it!
Doing a much better job on upkeep , Keep up the great work , great layout for the price !!!!
STAY AWAY IF YOU PLAY IN THE AFTERNOONS!!
We are a group of guys that okay weekly. Usually always Lake County courses. We have a scratch, 3, 6, and 9 in our group.
SHORT STORY - the most unfriendly staff in clubhouse ever, they have a beware of dog sign posted at clubhouse, carts are in bad shape, THE TEE BOXES ARE A MIX OF CRABGRASS AND OTHER WEEDS, this place could easily blend in with a cow pasture.
LONG STORY - this country is out of work and teetering on a fine line before a recession and Swiss Fairways has the never to be the highest priced course in the area (Green Valley which is down the street is in better shape, better layout, cheaper and friendly staff and owners). So Swiss will book and charge you for a 3:45 tee time, we tee’d off and a lady with a big white dog (beware of dog) followed us the first 4 holes. We were going into hole 16 and it was 7pm and she advised she was a owner at the course and “7 means 7 so we had to stop playing and get carts in.” We advised we were not told by proshop of the 7pm rule, she advised she didn’t care, “they are privately owned and she makes the rules.” We told her they should charge and book for a full 18 holes at 3:45, knowing the average pace of play is 4 hours and then come kick us off at 7 when there is 1 hour of sunlight left. She carts this big white husky looking dog around as an intimidation factor because we couldn’t get close enough to her to have an adult conversation. I mention the 4 hour pace of play because if the carts were half decent and taken care of they wouldn’t be slow as heck and you could okay faster.
STAY AWAY!!!
are you really blaming slow play on a golf cart?
Not sure what course you were playing but my group also played in the afternoon and we were advised that the rate we payed was for as many holes we could play before close. The lady you referred to is a lovely woman as is the rest of the staff. As for the condition of the course, maybe you and your low handicappers should rethink your comments as this course is in great condition and depending on your chosen tee blocks can be quite challenging.
The owners have done a great job revitalizing this course and is one of my favorites when me and my wife are in Florida.
BTW, Both me and my wife are 8 Handicappers !!!
Hi, thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about the conditions of the course are extremely important to us. Please know that we are currently working to get everything up to par as the current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game, and we will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Swiss Fairways Golf Course. We hope you'll give us another chance to show you how we've improved.
Good Choice For a Fun Round
Decided to take a little bit of a ride and check out Swiss Fairways. I'm glad I did. Now don't get me wrong, if you are looking for immaculate conditions this is not the course for you. A little rough all the way around but the greens rolled true and the layout was really a joy to challenge. Front played a little shorter than the card but don't know if that was a daily occurrence or they've done that because of the amount of seniors I saw playing. As mentioned the motor boats pulling the skiers on some holes really gave it some unique features. With Sanctuary Ridge on the downside and Kings Ridge only ok, in my opinion, I'd say this is the place to play around the Clermont area. I've spread the word to some buddies of mine and will take another ride over in a month or two. You should also.
Nice day of golf
Played this course yesterday for the first time. Decided to make the drive from Orlando area based on recent reviews and the price being pretty good. Upon arrival I was greeted in the prosjop by a nice man and was on my way. Played with two friends and we were offered individual carts due to the virus but one of my friends and I work together daily so we shared a cart to have more for others. The course was in decent shape. Not sure I would agree with some of the stellar reviews lately but maybe I am spoiled with so many great courses in Orlando. Tee boxes were fair,, fairways were OK with some spotiness of grass and weeds but all mowed evenly. Greens were good and rolling fast. The surrounding of the fairways and rest of the course was a little ruff with weeds and over growth. I could see how this could be a beautiful place all around if the money was available to do it. The course layout is interesting with the front and back 9 being split across the roadway. Going to the 10th tee we weren't sure we were on the right path as we traveled down a long dirt road bordering the street. Eventually getting to the tee however and we were good. The community is also home to a waterskiing area with a couple of holes crossing the lakes where the skiers come past. Very interesting and cool. Saw some really good waterskiing while hitting on number 12. Over all it is a nice course with ample grass and good greens. Pace of play was good despite it being pretty busy we played 18 holes in just under 4 hours. Staff and even a couple of local residents we met were friendly and welcoming and gave the impression they were glad we gave them a try. Despite it being a bit of a drive for me considering I have so many other choices close by, I would still plan on returning now and then just for something a little different. All in all a great day of golf.
First time playing this course in about a year ...Major improvements seen on greens , overall care of course was improved ..a lot to do but very much improved and enjoyed playing !!!!

40 minute drive was well worth it.
Course was in great shape
Pace of play great
Very interesting water skiing going on while you golf
Overall a great value
Nice layout
Nice layout with several interesting and challenging holes. Price is reasonable. Greens are slow. Overall a fun experience except for the person at the pro shop who is a bit rough on his demeanor.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Swiss Fairways Golf Course. We hope to see you again in the future.

Nice layout, even with the skiers flying by on 2 holes on the lake. Course in very good shape , even though it hasn’t rained in forever. Staff nice , starter nice. I will definitely play it again
Would definitely recommend it
If you want Covid-19, play here
Never been treated with such disrespect! Had a solo thrown into our group and they would not give him another cart. Explained I don’t feel comfortable because of the virus and I was told “That’s your problem, not mine”. They do not care about getting people sick at this place, unprofessional and dirty, and a complete lack of common sense- place should get shut down or fined.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We see you rated the course 1-star and are interested in learning what we can do to improve for your next visit. We take single star feedback very serious at our course. You are welcome to comment further or reach out to our team in the golf shop. We always appreciate the feedback. Thank you for playing Swiss Fairways Golf Course.
Outstanding
I drove from Windermere to Clermont and it was about a 40 minute drive. It’s got a lot of elevation and a lot of beautiful sites. I really enjoyed this course a lot and it was worth every second of my drive. The owner came out and was very friendly. Highly recommend it.
I agree with you 100%
