Swiss Fairways Golf Course

About
Located just west of downtown Orlando in Clermont, Swiss Fairways Golf Course utilizes the wide open and hilly terrain that is typical for that area, but uncommon throughout the rest of the state. Large greens welcome low handicappers while strategic bunkering is incorporated into the layout to add some challenge. There are over a hundred sand traps in total and 10 water hazards come into play. Swiss Fairways Golf Course has a relaxed, casual atmosphere that is far from the typical country club environment. Although it is relatively unknown, the Swiss Fairways Golf Course will most likely grow in popularity due to its affordable rates and interesting layout.

204 yard (blue tee) Par three third hole Photo submitted by Edpro on 07/08/2013
great value
playing the same nine holes twice from different tees is far from ideal, but still worth playing and great value,
Good Value
I see reviews about staff being unfriendly—-the lady in the pro shop could not have been nicer.
It was a little wet which kept all the fair weather golfers away, consequently it was a most enjoyable round, played in a little under 3 hours.
We will definitely return.
Swiss Roughways
For a course built in the late 1980's, and only 9 holes, I would have expected a better groomed condition. Clubhouse, if that's what you choose to call it, is a trailer. Very little food and beverage products available, yet they prohibit you from bringing your own beverages. Fairways cut down to the roots, and everyone knows tat if you cut the roots out of a growing plant/lawn you get dirt. So, most of the time you were hitting from mud/dirt in the fairway. Rakes were not available for the bunkers, so you had the highest probability of landing your ball in a footprint in the bunker since no one attempts to smooth out their footprints. Greens were thirsty from lack of watering, and needed to be cut and rolled. Also, there were not any signs to direct you to the next tee, especially coming from #5 green to #6 tee. Other golfers, probably members, who were impatient waiting to play their next shot, tried to jump ahead without asking permission even though pace of play was right on time. Our group completed our 18 hole round in 3 hours and 45 minutes. Course management needs to "school" their members in proper golf etiquette.
Swiss Fairways
Nine hole course built in 1989. Does not look like much upgrades have been added or course development since then. Scenic course on large lake with water coming into play on a few holes. Need to erect directional signs for next hole, especially when leaving number 5 green to number 6 tee.
Disappointed
First, the owner who was working the check in desk has a bad attitude and no sense of humor. Won’t return just for that. The lady who answered the phone when I inquired where the 10th tee was gave me a snarky response. No need for that. Back 9 closed for over 2 years! Why?? It’s ridiculous to pay for 18 and play the front 9 twice. Played this course over 2 years ago, all 18 open, driving range and chipping/putting area in good shape. This time that area looked awful. Maybe owner just in it for the money and doesn’t put anything back into the course. Form over some of that cash, open the back 9, redo the driving range and make it a decent course again.
Ain't 18
You play the same holes twice from different tee boxes. Greens better than usual but we have had a lot of rain for this time of year. Mgt never makes you feel welcomed.
Beautiful day. Course in good shape.
Good grass in fairways. Greens rolled smooth. Playing the same nine over usually makes me play better the 2nd nine.
Nice Surprise
I have played here off and on for 15yrs. I have NEVER seen the greens in such good shape and the fairways were very good. The sands traps were fair BUT today they were putting in new WHITE sand and are probably finished by now. For the price do not miss this course you will be pleased. Yes it is only 9 holes and then you repeat it again (you can always change tees). But on a i8 hole course you have to repeat all18 again the next time you play so what is the difference. I should not tell you about the improvements as it will only make it busier for me but trust me this is a GOOD deal!!!
1st round of the season 👍
Nice course. Could do with updating distance markers.
