Inspired by the backdrop of the Manatee River, Ted McAnlis has created the ultimate golf experience with the perfect combination of beauty and challenge. Waterlefe Golf & River Club is built along a particularly beautiful section of the Manatee River, complete with wide expanses of pristine marshes and pleasant coves. Don't be surprised if on the 15th tee you spot a family of manatees poking noses up for a breath of air. The golf course was designed with a great deal of time, effort and expense going toward protecting and resorting the natural environment that gives the course it unique character. The gently sloped greens with the newest Tifteagle Bermuda offer the ultimate in putting. From a lazy start on the par-5 first hole to the big finish on the 18th hole island green, golfers love Waterlefe Golf & River Club!

Very nice course.
I played Waterlefe yesterday for the first time in many years. It continues to be a very nice, well maintained course.
The course is very challenging. Lack of course knowledge can lead to inflated scores as there are some hidden hazards. The rolling fairways sometimes block your view of water and sand.
Unfortunately, Waterlefe, along with many other courses, suffers from Post COVID price creep putting the course out of the reach of the average golfer's pocketbook.

Great course in Bradenton
First time playing. Pretty impressed. Great layout has lots of forced carries, make sure to play from appropriate tees for driver carry. Nice generous fairways. Course including greens in great shape. If in area to play on vk spend the extra $$ to play a primo course u won’t be disappointed Zach says.

Better than most in the area
For a country club atmosphere, I think the course conditions could be a little better..Was in good shape but wouldn’t say it was great! My opinion only..

A Favorite Course but GNATS!!
As seasonal visitors we have played Waterlefe several times and enjoy the layout and conditions. Price has gone up, just like every other course. Used a "discount" app for $99 pp + convenience fees and tax which totaled $211.86 total. Slope ratings are high and while there are hazards to contend with, the fairways are open and greens are fast - great conditions from several tee boxes. We have played this course many times but this was the first time we "attacked" by gnats on the last 4-5 holes. Our foursome was bitten so much on all exposed skin and clothes were covered! It became very distracting. We have too many bites to count. Bring bug spray!

Nice Course
Course was scenic with lots of water but fairly placed. Some challenges but overall enjoyable. Only negative are the bugs that were relentless on hole 15!

Really nice course and nice people
This is a very good course. There are multiple tee boxes for all abilities. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The course was in very good condition, both fairways and greens. The only thing that kept it from a 5 star rating was the pace of play. It took over 4 1/2 hrs to play, and I never saw a ranger to help move things along. I talked to someone who plays there regularly and he said it usually moves along very fast, so today may have been an anomaly. Highly recommended.

Overall good track
It was overall a very nice track but it got to be very backed up, especially starting on the 14th hole and there was nobody out there to help move things along. And no beverage cart at all that would’ve helped to make the delays a little more tolerable. It was my first time playing and I don’t know what was up with the bugs out on the 14th and 15th holes, it was around 5 PM at that time, but they were absolutely brutal and I was ready to just leave the course at that moment as pace of play had to come to a grinding halt and was just getting eaten alive. But the course was great overall and do hope to play it again, but probably earlier in the day.

One of the Best Courses in Area
We come back to Waterlefe every winter because it is one of our favorite courses in this area. Excellent course condition and layout. Greens are still fast which I like unlike some courses in the area. Two issues this time. The pace of play was slow. We waited a bit on most every shot and fell behind about 15 minutes on our GPS. We were right with the group ahead of us on every hole until we hit hole 16 and we all found water trouble and fell behind. The next hole the Marshall shows up and tells us to pick it up. Ridiculous. Also we never saw the beverage cart after hole 2.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course.
