Inspired by the backdrop of the Manatee River, Ted McAnlis has created the ultimate golf experience with the perfect combination of beauty and challenge. Waterlefe Golf & River Club is built along a particularly beautiful section of the Manatee River, complete with wide expanses of pristine marshes and pleasant coves. Don't be surprised if on the 15th tee you spot a family of manatees poking noses up for a breath of air. The golf course was designed with a great deal of time, effort and expense going toward protecting and resorting the natural environment that gives the course it unique character. The gently sloped greens with the newest Tifteagle Bermuda offer the ultimate in putting. From a lazy start on the par-5 first hole to the big finish on the 18th hole island green, golfers love Waterlefe Golf & River Club!

Returning to a great course
This course will test your game. You need lots of shots, an accurate driver and putting skills. Lots of tees for all sorts of skills. Did not bother with the water driving range, but the putting green is representative of the course greens. Seems to play longer than yardage, but that is the way things go. You will need extra balls as the bogey monster and water gremlin will get you.

Cool Layout
Unique layout. Water, water everywhere! Loved the challenge. First class amenities. Played with two nice guys from Canada, Ken and Steve. Already looking forward to coming back in the future.

Waterlefe Golf
Course in excellent shape, greens rolled true, but were slow especially compared to previous rounds @ Waterlefe. Pace of play excellent, 4 hrs

Great 1st Round at Waterlefe
This is one of our most favourite golf courses in the area. The greens and course are always in good conditions. The greens were not as quick as we've played them before however, are quite speedy despite that they look slow. This is not a course for a beginner or once a month player. This is a great test of golf, if you can't get on the green in 2 shots over regulation per hole, then please don't play it or otherwise don't hold others up....pick-up. and move on. I would not play it anytime past 1:30 as the bugs on the back nine are too thick and disruptive to focus on three of the most difficult holes on the course. Looking forward to go back to play however, not at $75 or plas rate.

Tough, but fair test
I’m a realistic 5-7 handicap at any given time. By and large this course is too hard for most which slows play down to brutally slow levels. Get a day where the wind blows like when my group played and it’s lost ball after lost ball unless you are a premium ball striker.
Enjoy the test and views, place is beautiful. Just know your score is going to be 7-10 strokes higher than you are used to….at least.
