Inspired by the backdrop of the Manatee River, Ted McAnlis has created the ultimate golf experience with the perfect combination of beauty and challenge. Waterlefe Golf & River Club is built along a particularly beautiful section of the Manatee River, complete with wide expanses of pristine marshes and pleasant coves. Don't be surprised if on the 15th tee you spot a family of manatees poking noses up for a breath of air. The golf course was designed with a great deal of time, effort and expense going toward protecting and resorting the natural environment that gives the course it unique character. The gently sloped greens with the newest Tifteagle Bermuda offer the ultimate in putting. From a lazy start on the par-5 first hole to the big finish on the 18th hole island green, golfers love Waterlefe Golf & River Club!

Great course
We have always enjoyed playing Waterlefe. Not an easy course…be prepared to loose some of your golf balls.

Challenging course
My wife and I played with another couple and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Lots of water, interesting layout, and challenging but fair holes. Very good condition, complimentary range balls was a nice touch and top rate service. Looking forward to our next game at Waterlefe.

Very nice course, good shape but very overpriced!! 150 per round not worth paying. Other courses in area less expensive and similar conditions. Also difficult to get advanced tee times.

Water Sneaks Up On You
No surprise, really. It's in their name. There is big water you can see, some forced carries, and water you don't expect, just out of view. It's a beautiful course, challenging even from the forward tees. The rangers try to keep up the pace, which I like, but it can be tricky with all the places your ball can hide. Multiple plays should help with learning safer places to hit.

Not worth the money
No one available to take clubs. Carts were not properly charged. Grill room not open very late.
We waited on every hole for the 4 men in front of us. Made us very late finishing.
I will not return.

Great course kinda pricey
The course was in great condition, range balls were included, range into the water, putting area did not have holes but had multiple balls for practice, pace was decent, greens were fast, the kitchen was closed after the round but I did have a beer. I’d play here again.

rain interupted
Finished in 3 1/2 hours, me and my brother a two some. teed off at 1 PM and hit a big shower on 5-7 holes, which cleared the course and allowed us to move pretty quick. A pleasure as we hit some slow play last winter on one occasion.
Course conditios pretty good, drained well.
saw a bald eagle on 10.
