Inspired by the backdrop of the Manatee River, Ted McAnlis has created the ultimate golf experience with the perfect combination of beauty and challenge. Waterlefe Golf & River Club is built along a particularly beautiful section of the Manatee River, complete with wide expanses of pristine marshes and pleasant coves. Don't be surprised if on the 15th tee you spot a family of manatees poking noses up for a breath of air. The golf course was designed with a great deal of time, effort and expense going toward protecting and resorting the natural environment that gives the course it unique character. The gently sloped greens with the newest Tifteagle Bermuda offer the ultimate in putting. From a lazy start on the par-5 first hole to the big finish on the 18th hole island green, golfers love Waterlefe Golf & River Club!

Beautiful golf course
It was wonderful all around , from scenery, to course layout, to golf . There was nothing to complain about except for some of my golf shots !

Outstanding course with plenty of water
Played 3 great courses in the area and this ranks right up there. The holes are well spaced out however with difficulty level, took just over 4 hours to play. Lots of water in play but very fair.
Fairways in good condition and greens are running fast but do have some bumps.
Played with 2 members who helped with course management and made the day enjoyable.

Start to 18 was a great day. "Kids" in the cart barn were really nice, guy in the club house was super nice, the starter was super friendly and the cart girl, Jill, as a native Floridian proves that Fla girls are the best. Anyway, this is a challenging layout, yet it has large landing areas off most tees and is always very well-maintained thanks to the dedication of the club members to keep their course one of the top tracks in Manatee County.

One Of The Best Courses In The Area
Played Waterlefe mid-week on a perfect afternoon. Course was not crowded. Staff friendly and helpful (as always). Course (tee to green) in excellent condition, which is impressive as the area experienced damaging weather less than a week ago. There is water on virtually every hole (thus the name), and there is a premium for keeping your tee ball in play. However, the landing areas are generous if you choose the correct tees and reach the wide parts of the fairways. This course is perennially one of the early stage US Open qualifying sites, and well worth the money.

course in really good shape, everyone working the course are very friendly. challenging course where if your too errant off the tee, you will get penalized, but shot a 95 where normally I'm at 90. felt ok about this since I've never played the course before and must have lipped out 5 or 6 putts for par( not a good putting day) I'll definitely play it again.
