Inspired by the backdrop of the Manatee River, Ted McAnlis has created the ultimate golf experience with the perfect combination of beauty and challenge. Waterlefe Golf & River Club is built along a particularly beautiful section of the Manatee River, complete with wide expanses of pristine marshes and pleasant coves. Don't be surprised if on the 15th tee you spot a family of manatees poking noses up for a breath of air. The golf course was designed with a great deal of time, effort and expense going toward protecting and resorting the natural environment that gives the course it unique character. The gently sloped greens with the newest Tifteagle Bermuda offer the ultimate in putting. From a lazy start on the par-5 first hole to the big finish on the 18th hole island green, golfers love Waterlefe Golf & River Club!

Great Windy Day
Waterlefe is one of our most favorite courses in the area. We play it as often as the Hot Deals are available. The course is almost always in great maintained condition. Thus far this Winter season we have not had any issue with pace of play. It's not/not a beginner or high handicapper course. You need you good golf game and at times (depending on the wind) to play conservatively to get your best shot at greens. Example, the16th hole fools you into wanting to hit a big tee shot when in fact you need to hit a precision shot toward the right of the left bunkers and ensuring to carry the water on the right for a view of the small green, which is surrounded by water hazards. Would play this course every day if prices were affordable.
Vacay buddy golf
The front 9 basic / boring. The back 9 very nice providing good scenery and layout. The greens ok to good but a bit slow for me. Maybe they didn’t mow that morning. Range was fine. Bar/clubhouse we’re excellent. Andrew in the Pro shop was first class…friendly helpful and knowledge.

1st Time playing the course
Great day - started w the Aqua driving range. Lots of fun!
Course was in great shape - be ready for target golf and picking the right club. A challenge the entire round - oh forgot to mention water on every hole.

Favorite Golf Course
Waterlefe is one of the better golf layouts in the area. It is quite a challenging golf course and not one for the occasional or higher handicap golfer. Lots of water (unless mistaken, only four holes where water isn't in play) meandering throughout the course strategically placed as well as well-placed bunkers. It is a target layout and when the wind is up it is truly a test of golf skills and patience. The greens are in good shape running at pace a faster than most courses in the area, and the bunkers are quite good with new white sand. Highly recommend this course however, not/not for the occasional or high handicap golfers.

A go to place to play.
Other reviews are right on, great course with excellent layout and very good conditions. I just hate the 14th hole. That one should be blown-up. Just a poorly designed hole when one hits sand wedge for 2nd shot on a par 5. Other than that, everything else is 5 stars.
No idea on internal amenities as never used them. Cart kids are great.

Great Layout, conditions, and staff.
I have played 10 Florida courses this month. This course was in great, great shape and great scenic looks. Cost is +$100 but worth it.!

Always Stunning
Greens Fairways and Tee Boxes in great shape. Greens will hold a ball and are nicely quick. Cart comes around with everything you need. Course management is key here. Bunkers have perfect sand and plenty of it. I'm an 8 handicap and play all over the area, this is the most beautiful course for the money with all the water.
