Arlington Ridge Golf Club
About
Arlington Ridge Golf Club in Leesburg, Fla. runs alongside the Palatlakaha River, which edges along the entire southern boundary. Centuries-old oak trees have a commanding presence on the course with stately oak canopies providing beautiful backdrops to the greens and fairways. Pro golfer and NBC commentator Gary Koch crafted the layout. He wanted to create a golf course that is challenging but not overly difficult, giving it appeal for players of any skill level. The layout has a varied mix of holes that strike a balance between being tough and player friendly. Beginners still have a good shot at finishing the round strong while seasoned golfers will enjoy the subtle nuances of the course's tests that come from the elevated greens, strategically placed hazards, and dogleg approaches. You won't encounter any major obstacles but Arlington Ridge is a golf course that will make you think.

extremely disappointing
Played here late 2014 and course was fine. Played on 6/3/2015 and course was very rough to put it in a GOOD tone. A cobblestone drive is smoother than these greens were today. Since we live in the area year round, we will be back. We will also call before booking a tee time to check the course conditions. We should really know better since this time of year is questionable on courses around the area.
great value
very pleasant day. we played after noon on a hot spring day so the course was wide open with no waiting. the greens were being aerated but overall playing conditions were very good. the staff was very friendly and an excellent value utilizing Golfnow.
BAD course and VERY BAD management / head pro
Went to play and once we found out the greens had only 20% grass we decided to get a refund and come back another time. We hadn't swung even one club and had only putted for 5 minutes. Went to get a refund and was informed "The don't give refunds even if you've not even stepped onto the first tee." Was told it was a "rain check or nothing" and the manager/ head pro was extremely rude. He said only people from out of state can get a refund. I told him if I couldn't get a refund not having hit one single ball then I would not return either he stated "That's fine with me, ill take that deal". We won't be returning.
Greens in bad shape
Starter indicated the greens had been airiated, which they were. Greens are in much worse shape than just plugged. I haves played this course in years past and never seen it in this bad of shape. Probably won't go back for some time.
horrendous conditions/terrible customer service
Greens unplayable. Course nearly burned up.. Asked some people who had just finished and was told "greens are as bad as the practice putting green". Decided to get a refund and come back another time. Even though we never pulled a single club and never set foot on the first tee we were told NO REFUND. A rain check or nothing. Really? Not a single shot hit yet we cannot get a refund? Will never play here again. I don't recommend anyone play here.
terrible greens
The tee boxes were ok, but the greens were just punched and topdressed. I can deal with that, but there was almost no grass on most of the greens. My guess was the overseeding was too much and the burmuda did not come back. Most of the greens were just dirt - very bumpy with the little burmuda that was there. DON"T PLAY THIS COURSE!!!!!
Wait a while
Greens had been punched a week before we played and seemlingly the day we played they were doing more work on them and it made them unplayable. We actually didn't even attempt to putt. we pulled the balls to the edge and chipped and then picked up. We recieved a small discount even before we played but i don't think the inside staff knew how bad the greens were. The course is nice just in bad shape right now. I would wait a while before going to play it.
I'm not a happy camper
I booked this course online, there was not a mention that the course had been aerated. The entire course had been aerated, from tees to greens. Putting was almost impossible, all you could do was putt in the direction of the hole. I am surprised that the course had not contacted Golfnow and it had not been mentioned in the booking.
Punched greens
We were never informed the greens were punched until we arrived at the course. We were then told only 2 greens were bad. All 18 were bad. We payed full price. This was not right. We should have been told about the greens when we booked . They should not have charged full price.
I like this course but I am very disappointed on how we were treated that day.
FRIDAY OUTING
WHEN I CHECKED IN THE PERSON WAS VERY NICE AND POLITE. THE COURSE IS WIDE OPEN LINKS STYLE. FAIRWAYS WAS NICE AND WIDE AND FIRM SO THE RAN UNLIKE THE FAIRWAYS DOWN SOUTH. GREEN WERE MODERATE SPEED AND FAIRLY SMOOTH EVEN THROUGH BEING ERRATED.
OUR THREE SOME HAD A BLAST. CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY LATER IN THE YEAR.
course has a nice lay out
They were working to make course even better a few green need a little work and they were fixing them was a very nice course had a great time
Coarse review
Coarse is in very good condition. A few greens are being worked on but are still playable. I would recommend this coarse to a friend.
Great place to play
Great course, people are very friendly. Keep working with the course because it looks great

Great course and a great staff!!
I played this two days in a row. The course is lovely, well-groomed, and a nice layout. The staff is especially friendly-Jim in the clubhouse was great!!
I will be golfing here every time i come down to visit my folks.
Kudos to you Arlington golf team! You rock!!

Good value, great conditions.
We were placed in between a shotgun start and the groups in front of us were slow. The group behind us was playing speed golf so they were on our buts the whole round. The ranger/starter was annoying as heck, rushing us to the tee and eagle-eyeing us because I believe the group behind us was complaining. We were waiting on the group in front of us though!! Other than that, course was great and layout is awesome! The 19th hole is usually great but they did not have a menu on Mondays which I find strange. Just hotdogs. The practice facilities are great too! Definitely recommend, just tune the annoying ranger out. Lol
Beautiful Course, needs a ranger
I drove 60 miles to play this course as I had read some great reviews. The reviews were right on. The course is in beautiful shape, greens rolled true, and with 5 tee boxes, you can make this course fit your ability. I went out as a single and am used to slow play. However, I ran into a group of 6 golfers, yes, that's right, 6 who didn't let me play through until the 5th hole. Then, on the 7th, there were two threesomes in front of me. I timed how long it took in between shots and at one point, it took over 10 minutes to tee off and then another 8 minutes in between shots. After a three hour 9 hole endurance, I decided it was best to go home. I don't mind waiting, but this was the slowest golf I have ever played. If a ranger were present to help speed up play, the round would have been much more enjoyable. I will come out in the summer and hope to play all 18 holes.
Excellent
The course is in the best condition , the fairway is excellent and the greens are excellent. Keep the good work up.
A challenging experience
Please to see the head pro Jim Hall, at the counter, he does a great job. I find the course a little tough for me and others my age. (81). We play the whites, and they are fine. It the distance to walk up to the tee boxes and greens. Some are located a long way from the golf cart paths. Some greens are 50 to 75from where you park, and elevated. The course was in excellent condition, The greens were the best I've played in the area, and the fairways were a lot better then when I played last 7 months ago.
I will be back as soon as a deal comes up for me, on golf now.
We had a ranger on the course earlier in the day, but they are generally here during peak times (9-2) so there wasn't one on the course when you teed off after 3:00. I checked on the group of six and member told me he had permission from starter, who was told by member that Pro Shop had given him permission to play six. Unfortunately, the starter did not confirm this with the Pro Shop, which did not give the member approval. I spoke to the member, who is fairly new to our club, to make sure he now understands our policy of foursomes only going forward. Our apologies and we do appreciate the kind words regarding the condition of our course. I'll be sure to pass your comments on to the golf course superintendent!
