GET IT BEFORE ITS GONE
Great track due to go private 2020 get this one in now .
First Round at Sarasota National
Enjoyed our round today very much. Staff was great getting people to the first tee and started on time. Rangers appeared only when the pace slowed, but still was a good pace (4 hours). Course was in great shape. My first of many rounds at this course.
best conditions in the area
The course is in great shape unlike Jacaranda West. Greens are fast but true to their line and in great shape unlike Jacaranda West. We played the gold tees and I'm a 10 handicap and shot a 79. It is a long layout and the fairways are very wide. Bunkers have sand unlike Jacaranda West. I highly recommend playing it.
Sarasota in the wind
Course has very generous landing areas.
Greens were firm but speed was on the medium level, maybe stimp 9.
Few ball Mark's, greens rolled nicely.
Tough hitting a 185 club into a 145 distance! That was how strong the wind was at times.
Pace of play was dead on 4 hours. Players behind us wanted to do it in3:30 and hit into us 3 times. Ranger fixed that! Overall nice experiance.
Great course.
Only complaint was the wind. Staff told me to come back tomorrow and they’ll have it tuned down. The greens rolled very well. Fairways ran out real well. I had a real good lie every time I was in the fairway. We drove 45 mins to get there and will happily do it again.
Great course
This golf course is great. Has great warm up practice areas. Putting green, driving range and chipping area. I enjoyed playing the course with lots of water and bunkers. The course was in good shape and played well. I would recommend this course for excellent play and fun.
GOLF
It was anoter good day at Sarasota National GC with some new friends.
Great public Track....Staff needs some work
This course is very enjoyable to play. Somewhat open off the tee, a few great risk/reward par 4's. I've played almost every public course from Parrish to North Port and Sarasota National is in my top 5 or 6 (out of 30+)....The greens here are some of the best in 3 counties and when they sell out more home sites I'm sure it will get even better.
Unfortunately the staff at the proshop did not handle our check-in process very well. They demanded I pay them $69 each even though I was showing them my Golfnow confirmation number and amount owed at course.....$0 on my phone.
Long story short....if Sarasota National is going to accept "Golfnow" or "Big Summer card" guests they need to get their $&*! together before they belittle non-member guests in front of God and everyone! I would rate the course and experience as an 8 out of 10 but the staff gets a 1 or 2.
Enjoyable course
The course is in the best condition I have ever seen it. I have been playing this course since it first opened. Fun to play as fairways are wide and the greens run true and are not crazy fast.
Great layout . Tough greens. Needs some sand in bunkers.
Course is very challenging
Though the course ic very difficult, it is very fine. Greens were very fast and some like playing the US Open.
Great Course - Poor scenery
Very good course with a variety of holes and very good undulating greens. However, there is a lot of house building going on around the course which takes away from its attractiveness.
Good strategic bunkering and the shape and roll,of the greens make it an intriguing course to play. Well worth a visit
Epic round at Sarasota National
I love this track. Played it several times and it keeps getting betting. Home building going on but that doesn't even detract from the stunning beauty around you everywhere. Highly recommend before it goes private if that ever happens.
Cheers
