Had a great round. Found the greens very fast and challenging. Weather was wonderful, except extremely windy..but very temperate for Florida in May. Look forward to playing here again.

Fair but challenging course. The staff is extremely friendly and responsive. Fantastic practice facility. Range balls included which is a nice touch. Put this course on your list of courses to play.

conditions were excellent - fast greens and fairways - an enjoyable experience

This course is in excellent condition, hard to find a brown spot! The greens are the best I've played all year. they were running about a 12 and smooth! course has a different look and feel since all the underbrush has been cleared. Excellent facility, bring your friends.

Playing from the golds at 6400 yards or so, an excellent test. Wide fairways, large undulating fast greens. Some nice water holes. Mix of long and short par 4s, par 3s under 200 yards, strong par 5s.

Course in very good condition, and ground maintenance staff were very visible, which is nice too see.

Food and beverage service poor, although there was a cart. Eat prior to arriving.

Housing just starting to be built out, so visually course is huge, as no visible boundaries.

GPS would be helpful, but sprinklers well marked and crystals for laser on flag sticks.

lots of big greens with many undulations, and very fast, if possible stay below the hole, or 3 putts will happen. totally enjoyed this course only wish the weather was could have been better , played in 30 mile an hour winds and some rain, will go back again for sure, this a pure putters dream golf course

OK, Sarasota National is now back! Course conditions are EXCELLENT and, due to the resurgent building in the community, the common areas and landscaping are coming back. I have always loved this course and these improvements are key. It is a woman-friendly course, but very challenging for the guys. The staff were so friendly. Our only gripe was the lack of food. We all missed lunch and wanted to grab a sandwich after nine, but the pre-prepped items in the cooler were not that appealing. Perhaps the addition of a grill outside? Everything else... PERFECT. Sarasota National is on my Top Three list for the Sarasota/Bradenton area! (P.S. The greens are TOUGH!!)

Greens were very large and undulating so you really need to keep the ball below the hole to score well. Fairways were very wide and forgiving.

Love this course. Awesome fast greens. Fun, fair and challenging. Can't wait to play it again when friends come down to visit. I would however like to see them ranger a little better. Almost 5 hours to play.

30 minutes south of Sarasota is absolutely the best course you will find in the Sarasota/Bradenton/Venice area. I have played a few private courses in the area that don't hold a candle to this course.

The fairways and tee boxes are in amazing shape. Beautiful green grass and your ball really sits up nice (see picture). Don't be fooled by the wide fairways at this course. Placement is key and once you get on the greens, putting should be taken very seriously because the greens are lightning face and undulating. There aren't any flat greens. Staying below the hole will improve your score drastically.

A couple of guys in our foursome complained all day about the difficulty of the greens, but even though they were fast, they rolled true as any green I have ever putted on. So, if you can read a green, you can and will make putts.

The staff here was also great except for one starter that tried to get us out 20 minutes early when my partner had not warmed up yet. The starter was really pressuring us to get to the first tee. He needed to chill out and relax. The course was not crowded. If you only have one round of golf to play for the rest of your life, Sarasota National should be on your list!

Very well maintained course with beautiful greens.

A "fun" track in excellent condition!

Wide fairways and few water hazards. Greens are very well protected with numerous traps. No "surprises" anywhere--you can see the entire hole and all its nuances from the tee boxes. No "gimmicky" holes. VERY nice layout.

Every green is "Gi-Normous" and rolling/tiered. We didn't see one weed or one ball mark in 18 holes! They are VERY quick at ~ 11.5 > 12 and they putt very true.

Management and grounds keeping crews are really on top of this course! Very well manicured. Traps are all full of nice, granular sand. No low/wet areas.

Excellent practice facilities and 4-1/4 Hr pace.

Doesn't get much better than this.

Two (manageable) "down sides"

- Very popular and sometimes tough to get a tee time
- Complete "Pro Shop", but no food or drink

The course is wide open off the tee. But the greens are big, undulated, and fast! The course was in excellent condition. Will play here many more times this year.

Greens were in great shape....fast....but a little hard.
Whole course was in excellent shape. Way better than it was two years ago. Will be back.

Sara Nat... is a course I always look forward to playing....The staff is great and the greens are the best in the area....They have recently cleared out a lot of shrubbery on holes that you would normally lose your ball...so that part is good. The down side is it takes away many a lot of human relief areas....if you know what I mean....Overall, it's an excellent golf course....jim g.

The greens were very challenging, fast and many pins were in Sunday positions. Had several 3 putts.

Be autiful facility, although lack of housing is a little spooky. I was informed this was going to change soon, and that it would probably be private within 3 years. Play it while you can! I only wish I was playing better the day we played. Fairways were wide and forgiving and greens were fast and true. Nice range too! Recommend this couse to any and all!

One of, if not the best course in Sarasota County. Great layout, fantastic conditions, and a great challenge for all levels.
