Sarasota National Golf Club

One of the best courses around this part of Southern Florida. The staff war great right from the start. Informed us of the course. Rangers kept the course moving at a nice pace, As for the greens, there were the best we have played on all winter. Can't wait to play here again this summer.

Easy off most tee boxes-----greens in great shape but very tough---you can easily 3 putt sometimes

A couple of days ago we played a private/semi-private course that I categorized as a cow pasture (Misty Creek). Yesterday we played Sarasota Nat'l. What a differences. We've played Sarasota Nat'l several times in the the last 4-5 years. Last time we played, 2 years ago, we were very disappointed in its condition. I think it was the victim of the poor economy and the real estate bust. The property has been purchased by a development company and they have done a great job of restoring the course and all the surrounding areas. The course was always a great layout but now it is back in superior condition as well. I would highly recommend this golf course (great links style course).

The greens are some of the most challenging I ever played. Many tiered greens, with a lot of break and slope. I loved them, very good condition.

Excellent course. Wide fairways but challenging landscapes.

Had a 1:19 tee time. Course was crowded but the pace of play was lousy. Rangers story was "it's backed up all the way to #18". 4:40 minute round and after the first 3 holes we waited on every shot...

Overall quite a disappointing day. The course was by far the best condition we played but in reality it was the most boring. There is no proper clubhouse so when we wanted to have a drink with the guys we played with afterwards only cans from the pro shop were available.

Excellent condition. Very Fast Greens. Disappointed that the course has hacked away at the edges of the fairways. Fauna is all dead and brown. It used to be an incredibly beautiful course.

Usually play in 4 1/4 hours, this round was over 5 hours and no rangers.

Greens were very hard and fast with tuff pin placements
No elevation changes, nothing special.
I've played plenty of Troon managed courses in La Quinta and San Diego that were much better... But I guess this is not west coast golf

This is my favorite course in the Sarasota area. It has very different holes, not your side by side up and back layout. It is almost always windy.

Beautiful must play course if your ever in the area. You couldn't ask for better conditions and the club rentals were brand new callaway x2 hot irons and woods. Overall the course was very friendly to inerrant tee shots with very unique landing areas off of every tee. Take dead aim at the pin or three putts+ come into play on most every green.

Very windy with some rain on two holes but it was a great day overall. The course was in great condition. The pin placements were difficult. The staff was very nice except the ranger who was inconsiderate/unprofessional.
I would recommend this course to mid level and above players. The fairways are generous but there is still lots of trouble to get into if you aren't hitting it straight.

Very well maintained course, one of the best public courses in the area. Tee shots have generous landing areas, but approach shots and putting are key to success. Greens are undulating, very smooth, and quicker than most public courses.

Great experience at a wonderful golf course. Will definitely go back. $69 was well worth the money. Fairways and greens are in excellent condition.

The course was in very good condition. It is not the typical Florida layout with houses on one side of a narrow fairway and a water hazard on the other. It was a lot more open. The course had a good assortment of holes requiring use of mostly mid to high iron selections, assuming a reasonably good drive. The greens were large, undulating and quick. I would definitely play again.

Be sure to play this before lee it becomes private. Excellent greens, smooth and putt true.

Good course. Lots of space, not intimidating. Greens very good. Staff was extremely accommodating. Lots of water hazards but the fairways have large safe areas. Many bunkers with large faces so try to avoid them. Our only criticism being plugged unplayable lies in the bunker faces as the sand in soft and fine. Very nice course. A must play when in the area. Also worth a drive if farther away. Do not try to walk it. Distances between several holes is extreme.

First impression is course is a bit scuffy, but a lot of the fairways provided good lies. Plenty of width and plenty of bunkers. You can easily avoid trouble on this course. Water not a major issue. Greens in very good shape with lots of undulation. Putting is pretty true. I think this is under new ownership and they are making good progress on updating and upgrading the course. It should be really nice when completed.

Course was in good shape especially the greens. Looks as if they are putting some money into the course
