Overall one of the best courses in the Venice area

We were paired up with a guy who had played here before and it helped a lot on the tee shots to know the best approach. The course was in pretty good shape for winter golf. The surrounding area was pretty rough because they recently took out a lot of vegetation which will help the course to look more links than jungle in the future. The greens rolled smooth and quick with several greens having lots of undulations. Most of the bunkers were in good shape except for the one I was in that only had half an inch of sand over the dirt. We will definitely play here again.

Enjoyed the course. Fairways and greens in great condition. Several tee choices to chose from. Interesting practice area as well. Would play again.

Love this course, depending on how you play it can be as challenging from the forward tees as the back tees. several holes offer great rewards for the risk if you hit a good shot.

The greens were the best I've played on this winter, and were exceptionally fast and true. Grounds crew are doing a good job maintaining the course. They are doing a great job cleaning up and cutting back scrub growth and tall grass around water areas. Sand traps appear to have been redone since I last played here, and are very good!

I have always enjoyed this course. I think it's one of the best in the area, but unfortunately they try to make the course much more difficult to play by putting all the pins on knobs and on the windward side of the green. It seems that the setup was to punish the golfer as much as they could. Not a fun way to play in my opinion. If they set the course up in a fair manner, they just might get more play

Love the golf course. There is a strategy to playing almost every hole so it pays to play with someone who has played the course. Greens have plenty of character. Love the risk/reward holes that allow you to test your commitment to hitting the proper shot. Would definitely recommend the course.

Course was in excellent condition. You can see alligators in some of the ponds. Wide open fairways but challenging with a lot of water and sand. I played twice this year and I usually play at least twice when I come down from Michigan to visit my mom in Venice.

Great warm-up and practice area. Generally friendly off the tee but greens have slopes so you need to hit approaches to the right places.

This is my favorite course to play in the area and that includes World Woods. You may not find wider fairways anywhere on most holes. A premium is placed on hitting your approach shots here.

Repeat player at Sarasota National. Was hoping to see change in the year or so since playing before. Course conditions are top notch...challenging from all tee decks...still very windy due to lack of any structures to block the wind. Like how they are putting capital into the course instead of building a monster clubhouse. Still no F&B.

This is a great track, with many different type holes. What makes it even nicer looking, is they never finished building the homes there, so it has a links type feel.

Initially I was disappointed at the young nature of the course, but interesting dog legs combined with fabulous greens made this a real test of skill and round to remember.

Played on New Years Eve. Greens are fantastic, the best I have played in Sarasota. WCI bought the course a while back and improvements are showing. The staff is great. Sarasota National is always a must play when in the Sarasota area.

A must play when your in the area, ignore the " boring'" review. This is a premier public course , but with the home building under way , don't be surprised if it goes private one day. The course has greatly improved with the new owners. The greens are very good, nice speed and undulation kudos to the designer . Keep the ball under the hole or you will be three putting. We love it and it is favorite of our foursome and we play it often.
