Sarasota National Golf Club

Upon arrival at the course we were greeted by a pleasant, helpful staff. From bag drop-off through checking in with the starter our group was well informed of our tee time, groups in front of us, pin placement, and answered any questions that came up. This is a premier course in Venice and can as challenging a course as you so desire with the multiple tee options. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect Sarasota National (Venice) had to offer.

We have been coming to florida on a golf trip for 9 years and this is one fo the favourite courses each year - always in great shape and the staff are very friendly

I played the course up to last fall and it was getting shabby. Weeds in the bunkers and weeds on the fairways. I played yesterday 4/25 and the course is in great shape. Just like it was a couple of years ago. I look forward to playing there several times during this summer off-season.

I would say that this course is in excellent condition, especially the greens. They were fast and true. I liked everything about the course and believe it is a great value for the money. The staff was very friendly and welcomed everyone in our group.

I was very impressed by this golf course. The staff was incredible as soon as you walk through the door everyone makes you feel very welcome. With me being in my 20s I don't get very much respect at many golf courses but I must say they were the best at sarasota national. I've golfed almost every course in this area and they were very impressive. Course conditions were amazing also. The greens played fast and were maintained very well. The fairways were also maintained very well (not many divets). The thing I liked most about the course though was it was not over booked. The pace of play was great. Not many people playing in front or behind you. It was an overall great experience there and I will defiantly be back!

Very slow play for late April, almost 4 3/4 hours and the staff didn't care. Bunkers in poor shape, fairways a bit thin. Well tiered and fast greens. Very wide fairways

This is a nice layout which is good for all handicap levels.
Fairways are wide, greens are large, fast, and well contoured.
Rough is very inconsistent, ranging from a few inches of grass to bare dirt.

Truly enjoyed the quietness of the course, the layout and views of the course made the round even more enjoyable. With good positioning off the tees a good round of golf is waiting to be had!

The staff at Sarasota National always provide a warm welcome to their well-maintained and challenging course. The fact that there are no houses lining the fairways is a good thing, in our view, as this creates a feeling of natural Florida terrain, almost a links feel or "wilderness", with lots of wildlife and interesting birds.

The course is well maintained and is moderately difficult given the weird nature of the green complexes. The day I played, they had put the pins on the toughest parts of the green and with a 20mph sustained wind, it was hard to get close. Staff was very friendly and pace of play was great because there were not many people on the course.

Super welcolm from the attendant at the bag drop, as at the pro shop and starter. Took 4 hours to play which is acceptable. Wide and very good condition fairways with VERY fast and true greens. Thanks very much for a great round of golf.

Course was well maintained in a beautiful natural setting.
Staff was very friendly and accomadating, Course was challenging for low handicappers yet fair to hi handicappers in our group,

This is one of the best courses in the area. always in good shape . The greens are fast , you need to pay attention when putting because they have a lot of break in them. This course lets you hit the driver but the approach shot is the important shot

I always play Sarasota first when I vacation in Venice. The wide fairways and large greens as well as free range balls help shake off the winter "rust". Although the course is forgiving, there are a lot of doglegs that require good tee shots to score well.The tiff eagle greens are generally very receptive but they are undulating and you don't want to be above the hole cause they are fast! You really need to play this course more than once to really appreciate it.
Bring your lunch. No restaurant, just snacks.

Looks like it was designed to be very exclusive location but the economic crash must have shut down the development. Links type course, wide fairways, challenging shots, good greens. Well traveled but maintained pretty well. A little out of the way but play this one now. When the economy comes back this will end up being private I think.

Nice wide open fairways, tricky greens. On a previous occasion found Marshal to be "on our backs" .
Too bad they have limited dining/drinking facilities.
Also, I think I paid a fee to achieve the same rate I would have gotten had I booked directly with the Golf course, i.e. the rate posted at the Pro shop was the same as the rate I received from Golf Now.
