Great course. Worth the $$$
Lots of character to this course. Tight lies with fast greens
Troon Golf course
Greens are fast and fairways decent , rough and bunkers need some work. Overall it's a pretty good course with a challenging layout.
Course in great shape. Greens are excellent and fast.
Overall course in great playing condition. Moderate challenging and plays fair. I will would recommend to those that want to enjoy their day and not play a too difficult course.
The greens are in excellent condition.
The staff at this course are extremely friendly, they go out of their way to help you. I would play this course again, we really enjoyed our experience.
Good layout
Beautiful preserves, layout, firm, fast greens.
A pleasure to play.
Excellent, Player Friendly Fairways W/ Tough Greens
Great condition, challenging greens. Very wide fairways, which gives players a chance to get to the greens. 5 levels of tees. Once on the greens, the fun starts. A little on the expensive side but, a must play when in the area.
wide open and bomb away
course conditions are the best have been in the past three years. Played in January and felt it was over priced for course conditions, but at this time the greens were on par with any private club and fairways had improved considerably
Hard to belive but a Florida course with wide open Fairways
What a fun course to play with wide open fairways and little water hazzards. The course is in good condition, greens a little slow. All four playes in our group liked this course and will play it again.
The course has a nice variety of holes.
Greens were in fine condition and were fast. A good test for one's putting skill. Course provides a nice variety of holes and provides a reasonable challenge.
Great links style course
I played this course in high season in Florida. The course was in great shape and representative of Troon golf quality. The fairways were well maintained, the greens were fast and true, and the staff was cordial. I got the hot deal on golf now but it was still expensive when compared to good quality courses in the Midwest. Still, I would recommend this course to anyone visiting the Naples or Sarasota area.
When courses need money...
If you want to see what happens when an entire real estate plan goes terribly wrong, go play Sarasota National. The surroundings are depressing as is the course. I agree with other reviewers regarding the greens - very, very good. But, it strikes me that's the only thing the owners have $ to spend for. The rest of the course is in very average to poor condition. I should point out I'm not a fan of these big "monument" type tracks. I don't get the desire to see just how big we can make fairways, bunkers and greens. If you want character, go play University Park or Legacy.
What a beautiful course!
Each hole at Sarasota National is beautifully laid out and very scenic. One of the nicest courses we've played and a great value for the money. The natural setting, the wild life, the wide open fairways, the well designed holes added to a great experience and I highly recommend it. Each hole had multiple tee boxes for the different levels of play, and the Black tees were perfect for the low handicap golfer. A fun, fun course.
Love the fast greens
The staff was very friendly. The pace was a little slow at times, but not terribly slow. The fairways have wide, forgiving landing areas and the greens are very quick, which is how I like them.
very happy after playing sarasota national
best course in area very long and tough from back tees you get off tee here and can score well just a great looking and playable course
One of the best in the area!
What a great course, it is the best we have played in this area. The greens were in great condition, lots of variety a must play on my nest trip.
Love the course layout; would have rated higher except for pace of play.
Have played this course a number of times before. Have thoroughly enjoyed this course every time before. Unfortunately, this outing was 5.5 hours of agony because we had to play behind a group playing a replay round. An On-course Advisor was present for the first three (3) holes only of our outing but did not marshal the group ahead. There also was a beverage cart available for the the first four (4) holes only. Our expectation when playing a course is that we should be afforded the same benefits/enjoyment of play as all other players paying the same rate during the same window of tee times. The group ahead had already had their first round of the day. As such, the On-course Advisor should have been moving them to the next hole, given it was their replay round, so the groups behind could have the enjoyment of a reasonably paced round. Additionally, if the round was known by course management to have likely been a longer than normal round for players that afternoon [Note: we understand that slower than pace play can happen for various reasons], the beverage cart should have remained out. At least if you can have a beverage with your playing partners while waiting at each tee box and at each next shot, it would have somewhat eased the agony of the slow play. To add insult to injury, for two players in our group, it was their first time playing the course at our invitation. It is embarrassing to take guests to play a course for which you've done nothing but rave about only to have them experience a 5.5 hour round of golf.
Great place to play golf.
This course is very challenging for all handicaps. I have noticed that the first few times you play this course you pick a tee box that is more challenging than you think it is. Once its played a few times you put your pride aside and play a tee box up one and enjoy the course.
Wide open fairways, easy to play from the correct tees for your game.
A little pricey compared to comparable courses. Course was in great condition. Staff was friendly and helpful. No grill or restaurant.
Attention to details
I have played this course many times. I like the the challenge it offers. I'm 2 hdcp .
This might seem trivial but it's clear to me that new flags are needed. All of the flag bottoms are worn out, which leaves the flags slumping. It distracts from the appearance of an otherwise well keeper course.
Make the investment, it will give the course a more inviting appearance.
Remember, many of your visitors come from clubs that are used to ,"the attention to detail".
very good day !
this golf course is a very enjoyable experience and I hope to be able to play it many times in the future with new friends and old !!
