The greens are way too fast, even for good golfers no fun at all!
The fairways are stonehard and cut too short.
For women just about impossible to get a regular fairway shot.
We are definately NOT comming back again.

This course is one of my favorites to play in the area. The layout is fair and intresting. The conditions are great like a resort course and the greens roll fast and true.What more can I say.

Always look forward to smashing it down huge fairways. Never a concession girl, so come prepared. Hope to enjoy many more rounds in quiet tranquil course.

While the development around the course went bust due to the recession, don't let that make you think the course did! Although the rough areas are very rough (i.e. "naturalized" weeds) this course is a true gem. The benefit of wide open fairways is counteracted by tough greens ... super slick and very tricky due to the undulations. Lots of pot bunkers to contend with, too. Someday the development of the housing will resume and money will probably be spent on a clubhouse. Right now there's just a small golf shop without a grill room so bring your lunch if you think you'll get hungry! They do sell soda, beer and candy bars.

Course is situated in a non-developed housing development. This gives a great feeling of space, which is accentuated by the wide open fairways. Greens are big and true. Bunkering is poor, in need of serious attention. Facilities are very basic: portable restroom, no changing rooms, food and beverage very limited. Pace of play was slow: a very ponderous foursome in front of us appeared to face no chastisement from the ranger on the few occasions he made his presence known.

11:27 Tee time w/ wife. As with other Troon courses, well manicured & beautifully laid out. Wide Open. The course is scenic. Love the way they incorporate the natural landscape/vegetation into the course. Not a weed on tee boxes, fairways, or green. Fairways were like carpet. Greens huge & fast, rolling true. Free range balls provided before the round. Carts had windshield & raincover in back. Will definitely play again when in area.

This is a great course for the price. I will play this course again.

staff was very friendly - - -spent 10 minites discussing an arcane rule and were very knowledgable.

Greens fast and true. fairways wide and in good shape. not a great deal of undulation in the greens but the pitch was significant. the putting green is a fair approximation of the actual greens- - -do not be above the hole.

bricks and mortar-- average at best, no restaurant or pre-made sandwiches. candy soda beer is it.

driving range ,if marked, very poorly marked. hit over water to islands. range balls provided, which is always a plus

no pace of play issues ---very few players on course due to bad weather forcast. turned out to be chamber of commerce weather. lucky me! ! ! it poured sunshine

I live a long way from this course but if I were to return to sarasota/venice I would definitely play here again.

My rating is "good" for the outing but the course itself would get a 5 out of 5

we booked tee time on golf now hot deal, well worth for the money
was rather windy but playing time was still good with generous fairways you feel easy to play, well maintain and will be coming back

Really enjoy Sarasota National. Only one hole where you see any homes. Peaceful, quiet and a joy to play. Many holes where I come to the tee thinkiing 'I love this hole'. Lots of room off the tees with really fun greens. When greens are fast they are incredibly challanging. Very nice bunkering. Maybe the 4 most interesting collection of par five's on any course in the area. So many options in the 18. If you are in the area give it a try. It will be one of your favorites. Great values occur regularly.

Play it whenever I can. Wide fairways with challenging approach shots. Nice layout with some elevation changes. Fairways and greens in great shape.

From the gold tees expect about 6,600 yards. Black tees at more than 7,300, you need to be a single gigit golfer to have any fun. Excellent greens run about a 10-11 on the stimp. A couple of 440+ par 4's form the gold tees. Most of the par 5's are risk=reward, but make a mistake, and double comes into play easily. Excellent value at 29.00 in near high season. Highly recommended.

The fairways are easy to find but putting your approach shot on the right place in the green is not so easy. The greens are big, multi-leveled, and fast.

perfect pace of play along with friendly staff made it a very enjoyable round.

As a single I joined another group and played in less than 4 hours. The course was in fine shape and even though the greens had been recently top-dressed they were true and quick. The fairways are wide so the real challenge of the course is the greens which have a great deal of slope which provided many tough pin positions. Range balls and cart were included for an afternoon rate of $39..a great deal. The only drawback was the lack of a true restaurant on site.

Course was outstanding. We had a great time. I didn't shoot well but not because of the course itself. Staff was great!! Will be going back

One of my golf groups favorite tracks, great course to start a trip on , wide inviting fairways, no houses or condos to play around. Tons of wildlife

Started off great because the starter combined me (a single) with 2 other singles, and we teed off about 45 minutes before my scheduled tee time. Free range balls was a helpful component of the round. Challenging course, but fair.
