Sarasota National Golf Club

Watch out for some of the members. We had a group that kept hitting into us. Despite a playing at a 4 hour pace. Clearly this group doesn’t want the general public at the course. And the staff really doesn’t help.

Unfortunately the water ban has started. Greens and tee boxes still OK. Fairways brown due to lack of water. Such a shame but without rain, florida is doomed.

Overall very nice track. Will return once water ban is lifted.

Course is a nice, fun layout with many different holes, some of them memorable. Most holes are 100 yards wide. If you don’t play long enough tees, and if the wind is not blowing,

It’s not much of a challenge. Conditions were spotty. The fairways were dormant and brown due to the heat. Bunkers were good. The greens rolled good, but were like concrete on approach shots and did not hold. We teed off at 7:38 and pace of play was too fast. Yes, too fast. The group in front of us smoked us and the group behind us was up our butts on every shot, and we finished in 3:45. This time of year i think the locals are in a rush to hurry up and finish. No way they are putting out on every green. Overall, The course is fun, and worth playing.

Fair layout and challenging depending on pin locations. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are in great shape. Greens roll true and fast. They hold the ball on approach shots in. Every time we play we enjoy this course. It is one of the best tracks in the Sarasota area. Play it before it goes private.

Great layout, course excellent shape, but test today was patience as we waited every hole. At the turn the ranger asked us how Pace of play was. We answered it was terribly slow. We thought he might look into it on the back nine. Funny thing, we never saw him and pace of play got worse, at least two holes open that we could see, and waited every shot for the two groups in front of us to speed up. Never happened, one of our guys got so upset he stopped playing the last three holes.

Made my first visit to SN and was very impressed. Course is a good test, fun and in terrific shape. Price was right, staff friendly and helpful. The only negative was several of todays pin placements I felt were unfair. Greens here are big with lots of undulations and runoffs. IMO they were unfair because of their proximity to the edges of the front, sides and backs of greens. I understand tough, quick greens, but I feel they should be fair.

Outside of this, I highly recommend playing Sarasota National. It’s a gem. Thank you

This was one of the great golf game I have recently played. The only downside I could say were that the greens were way to quick as they were all lightning fast. Made it harder for our group. Overall great track and great price.

I've been playing Sarasota National since it has opened about 10yrs ago. It's the real deal, greens were perfect yesterday as well as fairway. NOT for beginners or those that don't feel they can get off the tee with the driver with some good distance too. Great practice range, 19th hole restaurant/bar, pro shop, and staff. Always my spot to go with my out of town guest that are mid-low handicappers.

Beautiful course, toughest course in Venice. Well maintained, beautiful scenery and excellent greens.

Outstanding course conditions. Great staff. Make sure you pack your short game because the greens will test the most experienced of players.

Greens fees included free driving range and facilities for putting and chipping

The course is obviously the attraction to sell housing as more and not houses are springing up around the course.

We did finish in the recommended 4hour 15minute time limit but we had to wait on literally every shot due to the back up

We played this course when it first opened and many times since then and every time it keeps getting better and better. The course conditions were as near perfect as you can get. The only downside is the area is almost wide open with very little cover and on the day we played Mother Nature was not very kind as she unleashed what seemed to be gale force winds. Overall I would highly recommend this course.

A great course to play. Much better pricing in the Spring.

this is one of the nicer courses in the area we came down from Sarasota to play here and it's well worth it the course was pack so play was slow but still worth playing
