Golf Club At South Hampton

the greens are absolutely terrible, fairways are OK.

Having played this course for 10 years they should be ashamed of letting anyone on these greens. Greens are horrendous! The Course needs to take a hard look at their greens keeper.

I never take time to write reviews but I feel like this might help the next person wondering if they want to play here. I’ll start by saying the staff and course layout are fine. The starter did say greens 2, 3, and 4 were in bad shape. He wasn’t wrong because those were the worst, but the other 15 were absolutely terrible to say the least. If you’re just trying to get out and hit some balls and find a deal for < $40 then it’s okay. If you appreciate good greens and want an enjoyable round then steer clear. There are much better courses in that area.

Randomly generated names with odd posting times are clearly either a worker at the course or fakes. This course is in horrendous shape. It needs all the greens replaced, tee boxes need replacing, bunkers repaired and so on. It was in wonderful shape about 2 years ago. New owner is the only reasonable explanation I can come up with.

The greens have been unputtable for about three years. It has not been in good condition since Hampton Golf sold it to the current owners. It’s been steadily downhill. Mark Macomber was the architect. He would be shocked to see its current condition.

This course was great about 2 years ago for a short time, then after that for some reason the quality just fell off a cliff. It’s in horrendous shape everywhere. Worth maybe $20 to play. It’s still the cheapest in the area for a reason to I guess. Just a shame because it could be amazing.

The course has a good layout, well groomed fairways and well cared for traps. Unfortunately, the round was marred with greens that are in terrible condition. According to one of the members the greens were aerated 4 weeks ago so they should be almost back to normal. One can only hope that the condition they are in is not the norm as there is significant die off. Good news was they greens held due to the sand from the aeration. Bad news they were almost unputtable.

Course was decent and overall in good shape.

The greens were bouncing back from aeration. So bad spots but still decent. Fairways were nice.

We were told at the beginning of our round that the first 4 greens had some issues.

All of the greens were in rough shape we discovered.

I thought the facility and course was nice. But putting on the greens in the condition they were in was bad. It looked like like someone raked the greens.

90 dollars?

Greens are really really suffering. I assume they may have lost a few greens.

Southampton is a great golf course. The staff is excellent. Always enjoy playing here during my annual 6 months in Florida.

Well, i did not notice the post of the aeration of the greens, but thats on me. Other than that I enjoyed my round.

Since last playing a few months prior, the fairways and greens are in tough shape and in poorer condition I’ve played over last 2 years. Hopefully this was isolated and club has longer term plans
