The Golf Club at South Hampton was designed to give every golfer appropriate risk-and-reward opportunities that supply both encouragement to beginners and challenges for more advanced players. The slope and contour of the course’s landscape is its trademark with strategic mounding and over 60 contoured bunkers that emphasize the terrain’s natural undulations. The course features rolling fairways and massive greens. There are also sixteen large lakes that come into play throughout. The signature hole is the tremendous par-5, 17th, which is a scenic hole that features a lake, fairway bunkers, and a breaking green. Although the course is a challenge, there are six sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.

Great Layout/Damaged Greens

Entire course was in excellent condition with exception of the greens. Obviously a major struggle right now with every green brown and damaged. Hope they can get it back on track. Such a fun course.

Greens really need work

It is not as bad as it used to be, fairways and tee boxes are good but the greens really need some work, about half of them are almost unplayable and extremely sandy

Greens were meh

Paid 66$ for some 30$ greens. Bunkers were ponds. Other than that the course layout is nice and challenging.

Bad greens

Greens are horrible right now. Probably the worst I have ever seen them but they still charge $80 and lie that the greens are okay.

Reduce the green fees until they are up to par and stop misleading golfers.

They have lost the course!

We have been playing at South Hampton for a very long time. Over that period, the staff has remained the best part of the course. However, it is now by far the worst course in Northeast Florida. The greens are unplayable, and the fairways have standing water, yet they still charge full price. I used to enjoy playing here, but enough is enough. I would rather donate my money to the Harris campaign!

South Hampton - needs some work

The staff were all quite friendly, the person in the clubhouse, the cart starter, were all friendly and helpful. The range is quite scruffy. Not much turf to hit off of. The practice green was ok, a bit slow, but ok. The greens on the course were not good at all. Many patches of dead grass, half dead grass, and chunks of turf that didn’t belong on a green. They were virtually unputtable. To be fair, the fairways were in good shape, the bunkers were and tee boxes were also fine. The greens are my main complaint

Greens - Awful

Greens looked dead! Never did get a clear answer about what had happened. Tees and fairways were fine.

Horrible Greens

The greens were in almost unplayable condition. They should really tell anyone who is about to play that majority of the greens are not in good condition. I would not have paid full price of I knew the condition of the course. I would have went somewhere else

NO GREENS

The only setback is the greens which were absolutely horrendous. Most were bare dirt or were showing the roots of the grass.

Great Tees and Fairways but the greens are horrible. Shame on GN for promoting this course in this condition. I wouldn’t play twenty buck to play here again. No critique yet inflated their thoughts on the greens. In fact, no one could describe justly how bad they are.

Not what it used to be

South Hampton is a fun track. Unfortunately, the greens are in terrible condition. The last few times I have played here it has had issues with patchy greens and or extremely slow greens. I cannot recommend paying the $60 green fee for the course at this time. I hope that they can figure out the greens, because the course layout is fun

Stay Away

Pace of play is horrible. 4 hours 35 mins to play 18.

Greens are painted dirt. Yes, painted dirt! There is no chance of improvement until a renovation occurs. Sand traps are all different types of sand or hard pan. I know it's a hazard. but some consistency is expected. There are as many areas of bare dirt and roots as there is grass in the rough. Overall the course is worn out and needs a lot more attention than DWA Golf seems to be willing to give it.
