Mayfair Country Club
About
Opened in 1922, Mayfair Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Florida and it's still the only course in the historic city of Sanford. Over the years, it has hosted a number of famous players including Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer. The layout is wide open with a traditional design that is player friendly enough to appeal to novices and experienced golfers alike. Like most older course designs, the fairways are wide but the approaches aren't very forgiving. Water hazards come into play on over half of the holes and you might be surprised by a few subtle but tricky elevation changes. Mayfair Country Club is not a formidable test by any means, but there are a few challenging holes that will make you think.

Great course layout
Really fun place to play at reasonable price if trying to save from more expensive courses, great course to play if flying into sandford airport as it's not far away
Fair course
The course was flooded in many areas. They have made many changes to the course.
Long day!
The course was still having trouble on the fairways from the two last hurricanes. The greens were good.
But this you know will take some time to recover from.
The worst part was that it took us ( threesome) almost 5 hours to play 18 holes. This was a first time experience, but not one you are waiting for.
On some holes we had three groups in front of us waiting to tee off.. We saw groups of 5 players.
Perhaps it is less crowded during weekdays ( this was a Saturday) .
Let's hope it is, because I would not recommend to go there during the weekend.
Recovering from hurricane flooding
Always enjoy the course. Still various spots of casual water (2, 4, 9, and 12), but improving. 12 was open from the original Tees with a narrower fairway.
I like this course
I like most everything about this course except for the $12 in gas and tolls for me to get there. Certainlly worth playing if you like the old school type courses and a good value.
Well maintained course, good value, friendly staff
The fairways, greens, and sand traps we're pretty well-maintained - other than the occasional greens having a rough area or two. The course layout is efficient but feels slightly cramped, mostly back and forth holes. Unfortunately the course seems to still be suffering from the fall hurricanes, with ponds expanding past where they are designed to be. Staff was extremely nice and hospitable!!
Overall, great value - would play here again!
Quite Nice
Biggest selling point would be the greens - in excellent shape. Fairways and rough not so great but playable. Be aware that there are several holes that still have standing water on them from the hurricanes. Specifically hole #13 which normally is a long par 4, converted temporarily to a par 3 because of an overflowed pond taking out a lot of the fairway, but all in all a nice day,
Nice but basic course
Fairways and greens were in very good condition. Tee boxes were terrible and clubhouse is like a portable classroom building. There was excess water on numerous holes due to the recent hurricanes but they did some work around to make it playable.
