Mayfair Country Club
About
Opened in 1922, Mayfair Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Florida and it's still the only course in the historic city of Sanford. Over the years, it has hosted a number of famous players including Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer. The layout is wide open with a traditional design that is player friendly enough to appeal to novices and experienced golfers alike. Like most older course designs, the fairways are wide but the approaches aren't very forgiving. Water hazards come into play on over half of the holes and you might be surprised by a few subtle but tricky elevation changes. Mayfair Country Club is not a formidable test by any means, but there are a few challenging holes that will make you think.

Ok day
I live close by and have played here for years. It is not the best and not the worst. It’s an easy course in ok shape.
The staff in the pro shop and the starter are not very nice. The pro shop staff seemed annoyed that we disturbed them. And the starter was seriously grumpy. They truly need an emergency workshop in customer service.
The greens were wonderful. Fairways ok. The price matched the value. Good pace of play. 4.3 hours.
I would go back again easily. Just don’t expect a friendly welcome.
Paid to much
Wednesday seniors play for $25.00, I’m a senior, booking a tee time through golf now cost me $42.00 plus a $11.00 dollar fee. I won’t use golf now again
Thank you Lisa in the pro shop for your help.
Greens are in great condition we will definitely be playing again.
Excellent Course for Golfers
Tee boxes were decent. The fairways were solid. The greens, from a functional perspective, were great. They didn't look perfect but they were clean and fair.
But....
The course is a bit of an eyesore. And it's pretty dangerous. The 12th tee box is at the end of the driving range. Multiple holes put you in the firing line of tee boxes for other holes. The course is extremely outdated and based on the the construction, there's a good chance the course will be closed in a year or 2.
I enjoyed myself. Made it out alive. Will go back.
If metrowest was in the same condition as Mayfair, I wouldn't be driving 30 miles to golf.
Short on carts
Had to wait for cart for 30 minutes. Then cart broke down in middle of the round. Green is good and staff is friendly.
Visiting Orlando
I’m a 90’s score player as well as my brother in law. We wanted to hang out and play 18 and not break the bank. This was a fun course and was the right amount of challenge for our level of play. No frills but we didn’t need any.
Not in good shape
First, they don’t prefer single golfers. I get there waited for a group to join starter tells me go out. I ask is there a group I can join he says no puts me behind a 3 some. I reach first green and see a 2 some teeing off behind me. What happened to no other groups? Pace was slow as can be. They pride on their greens and they were not in great shape. Lots of patch’s. Don’t have a bad back on their cart paths. They hosted a college tournament don’t know how. My thing is if you don’t want singles make the tee times 2-4 players instead of offering one player.
Very good value and conditions.
Excellent greens and tee boxes. Overall course conditions very good. A few single players behind us that we let play through. Would have been nice if they paired up singles but overall a great day and would return immediately.
Great course to play
I have played Mayfair a few times previously and always felt it was a good value. However, today was by far the best! Their greens were phenomenal and overall the course was is really good shape. If you have a chance to play, do yourself a favor and do so. Great value and course.
