Stoneybrook West Golf Course
About
Designed by Arthur Hills Stoneybrook West is a roaming blend of gutsy, penal holes, picturesque par threes over water, reachable par fives (527 and 522 yards from the tips, then 578 and 605), and several short, sporty par fours that cover all corners of the site. Dramatically rolling fairways salted with Hills' trademark grass-faced bunkers, subtle elevation changes and undulating greens were all artfully carved out of native orange groves, overlooking Black Lake. Water comes into play on 12 holes; you'll find all 18 are distinctly different, challenging and memorable.
For those visiting the Orlando area, particularly the Disney World complex, Stoneybrook West is just a matter of minutes up the road to the north. For those who frequent the Orlando golf circuit, Stoneybrook West is a course that must be seen to be measured against the other name courses.

Reviews
Would play again
All good conditions we’re not that good but I’m sure the hurricane had a lot to do with it, but for the hurricane they had the conditions are very good nice day out
Very slow pace of play, Sunday is not a good day to play there! Hackers are out!
Hurricane beat up this course, will take a few days to recover!
Fantastic Greens!!
The course was in great shape. The greens were hard and fast. One of the best courses in Central Florida area.
StoneyBrook west
Course was in good condition although there was still some standing water from recent rains. Greens were in great condition
Nice course and pretty layout. Challenging
This course was In pretty good shape all things considered with the hurricane that just hit. A few holes that were modified but overall the course was in good shape. Definitely would play there again.
Solid course, slow pace of play
Played this course a few days after Milton hit, so take this review with a grain of salt. Obviously there was some flooding from the hurricane, but overall the course was solid. Place of play was really slow. Worth giving it a shot, though.
Great to be back
Great to be back at this course after a few years off. Staff were great and new carts were great. Course was in good shape.
Played on a Saturday morning and it was S...L...O...W... but slow golf is better than no golf.
Recommend.
Still very average
"Greens are good" - the cliche that doesn't really help, but that's this track. 1 year in and it's still very average, with fairways that are only genuinely playable in patches.
It's budgetable but that always comes with cramped tee times to balance out revenue to the course. By the time we could tee off, it was 20 minutes beyond our scheduled time, then proceeded to crawl around the front 9. Took phone calls from our group and the group in front before it was addressed on #9 (by that time, there were 4 groups on the hole!)
For an inexpensive round, it just about suffices, but if you're looking for a halfway decent golf experience, give it a skip for the foreseeable future - at the pace they're on, it's going to be several months before the course is an enjoyable playing experience again.
Wet goat pasture
Avoid this course! We played on a Saturday and the range was closed because they didn’t pick the balls the day before. Therefore we couldn’t warm up.
Yes the greens are fine like everyone says, but the rest of the course is terrible. St. Augustine crab grass lines the fairways. It’s very wet on most holes. The grass around the greens is very beat up
Pace of play was slow. Green stump is a 9 and that’s being generous. I live nearby and will likely never play the course ever again
Pleasantly surprised!
Definitely will play here again on my next visit!
Course was in great shape.
Good Course, nice staff
It’s an easy going atmosphere, not your typical stuffing golf course. Staff on the course and in the Bar/Restaurant were very friendly. You get the feeling that they are proud to be open and running in this neighborhood. I’ll definitely be back.
Will be back
Took a chance, what I played was nice. Rain chased us away after 4 holes.
Greens are the best
For being out of business for 3 years this course is in better shape than most of its type and the greens are great.
Needs work
I played this course many times before it closed and having been hesitating booking it after the reopening considering the reviews and finally did. The course is slow coming back. The greens in good shape but the rough needs work and makes the corse less appealing. Will give it a try again in few months
Horrible booking
Had a 10:36 time time booked. Showed up around 9:45 to warm up on the range. Stopped by to check in with the pro shop and was told by a gentleman with no customer service experience that my booking doesn’t exist and that I should call golf now to ask them why it didn’t book. I showed him the confirmation and booked number. He looked again and found my tee time under the 11:15 slot. He said I would have to start at that time because they had a high school walking tournament going on, also because of the pace of play with the tournament we would have to start on hole 10. We wait and 11:15 comes and we pull up to hole 10 and there is 3 other groups of 4 waiting at that hole to start. Starter pulls up just as confused as everyone else. The “friendly” gentleman from the pro shop had sent everyone out there for that same start time. The starter radios back to him and he decides to start us on 16, one group on 17, one on 18. We play through 18 and pull up to 1 and there is another group that has just pulled up and is starting their round. We wait our turn and while we are on the tee box another new group pulls up to start their round. They are looking at us with a confused look on their face. Come to find out they are the second group of another tournament that is now starting. So now the starter pulls up in disbelief with the complete disorganization. He now has to chase down the group in front of us and ask them to pause and let us play through. After we play through we play 2 more holes and run into a traffic jamb. State of play is crawling because of the walking high school tournament. Winded up only getting 12 holes in before we had to leave in the over 6 hours of being there. A very poorly ran course with no one who wanted to take any accountability. The gentleman in the pro shop shouldn’t be anywhere near the front desk with customers or scheduling. Hoping it was a one off kind of thing, because I was looking forward to having this course open again after being closed for so long.
