About
Designed by Arthur Hills Stoneybrook West is a roaming blend of gutsy, penal holes, picturesque par threes over water, reachable par fives (527 and 522 yards from the tips, then 578 and 605), and several short, sporty par fours that cover all corners of the site. Dramatically rolling fairways salted with Hills' trademark grass-faced bunkers, subtle elevation changes and undulating greens were all artfully carved out of native orange groves, overlooking Black Lake. Water comes into play on 12 holes; you'll find all 18 are distinctly different, challenging and memorable.
For those visiting the Orlando area, particularly the Disney World complex, Stoneybrook West is just a matter of minutes up the road to the north. For those who frequent the Orlando golf circuit, Stoneybrook West is a course that must be seen to be measured against the other name courses.

Great shape!
SBW is in great shape! Range grass was perfect! Tee boxes were perfect, greens were very fast. Overall it’s the best I’ve seen it since it reopened. Highly recommend!
Stoneybrook West
Got to the course and were told they were running 10 minutes late. Our tee time was 1:18 so should have been tons of time to finish by dark. Not so play was so slow we only got 16 in 4 hrs 30 minutes. Never saw a ranger as the group in front of us were a family group of 3 then 4. We waited at every tee block. Sometimes they had just teed off but normally were still teeing off. A ranger should have told them to let us play through but no ranger ever came. Tee time are 9-10 minutes apart so 10 minutes times 18 hole equals 180 minutes or 3 hours. It takes 13-15 minutes per hole. Do the math and it doesn’t compute sending tee times off every 9-10 minutes.
Recovering
This course is trying to make a comeback after being closed for 2 or 3 years. I hope they can make a go of it.

Stoneybrook West
Course layout was excellent. Still needs tender loving care from shut down. There were too many tee times booked as we started 15 minute behind time. Started 1:33 for a1:18? Tee time. Every tee was at least a ten minute delay. We should have played a 4 hr round and we were stopped at 5:50 due to darkness and that was a 4 hr 15 minute 16 hole round and that is not acceptable as standard. We never saw a ranger trying to keep pace. Need to really improve pace of play as we should have easily completed our round in 4 hrs. I would play it again for sure but only at a quicker pace. A ranger should have told the foursome in front of us to let us play through!!!!! Be courteous on the course.
Greens are good!
Greens are good, remainder of golf course needs lots of work. Improving around the greens would be a great start.
No starter / Marshal checks pace of play. Folks do as they please, which is unfortunate. 5 hours rounds are un acceptable! Course is well designed and conveniently located!
Hopefully management keep their eyes on the ball and don't lose sight of the big picture.
Great change from earlier in the year
First let me say that the course has done a tremendous job with the greens! They were fast today and brutal if you didn't know the speed. The fairways and tee boxes were a little thin on grass but playable! The crew was great getting us out early and with another twosome! Will definitely be back for another try at the course!
Interesting layout with even more interesting greens
Course was in good shape and a good buy for the fee. If you are looking for a straight putt don’t play here. Lots of undulations on the greens and lots of tough pin positions. Fun course to play and I’d go back to try it again.
SBW is coming back
The course is weedy but playable. Same with the bunkers... they're not beautiful, white, fluffy sand, but you can play out of them. A lot of rough areas around the the greens.
And the greens? The greens are some of the best around with lots of contours.
The carts and cart paths are very good. The restaurant is open but we didn't eat. Well worth the hot deal price we paid.
Very sporty course with a good layout.
Course was in good condition and the greens were quick but not stupid fast. Lots of undulations on the greens may for some tricky chipping and putting. Fun course to play.
Will always be one of my favorites
Was right after the hurricane, so water was abound everywhere, but playable. Some holes were shortened by the tees because of standing water. First time playing since they reopened. Used to be one of my favorite courses .. I'm sure they'll get back up to being supreme soon enough
Awesome
The course was really good. Like everything about it. Only draw back was the person that played with us his name was Paul was let’s say easy way was a jerk. Its was like we weren’t around. I will never play with him again if I’m hooked up with him.
