Stoneybrook West Golf Course
About
Designed by Arthur Hills Stoneybrook West is a roaming blend of gutsy, penal holes, picturesque par threes over water, reachable par fives (527 and 522 yards from the tips, then 578 and 605), and several short, sporty par fours that cover all corners of the site. Dramatically rolling fairways salted with Hills' trademark grass-faced bunkers, subtle elevation changes and undulating greens were all artfully carved out of native orange groves, overlooking Black Lake. Water comes into play on 12 holes; you'll find all 18 are distinctly different, challenging and memorable.
For those visiting the Orlando area, particularly the Disney World complex, Stoneybrook West is just a matter of minutes up the road to the north. For those who frequent the Orlando golf circuit, Stoneybrook West is a course that must be seen to be measured against the other name courses.

Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses (2017 #18)
Reviews
The Course hasn't been re-opened that long.
I really like the layout of it course. Considering how long they opened back up, the course was in OK shape. The greens were really good. The tees were in decent shape. The fairways were OK. However, the rough and around the greens were on rough shape. I'll play again, but not until after the summer.
Worst course in Orlando
Currently on the course…77$ dollars…. This place is a DUMP. Ranger sent us off an hour late. They booked a tee time every 4 minutes. Fairways and rough are pure weeds 0% grass. Greens are a C-. Nice enough area and enough demand they should just put the money in and make it an enjoyable track. Right now it is a scam. Gave it a shot never again.
The course is not ready to be open
Was looking forward to this course opening . It was like playing a cow field fairways were horrible. Greens were ok. They should have waited to open or at least not charged a premium to play.
There are better courses in the area to play for less money. It reminded me of Metro West after they let that course go.
Nice to see it back, but a long long way to go.
I played this course about a decade ago, and seeing as to how it was just recently reopened, I thought I would give it a shot. The first two/three holes are in average shape, however, once you turn onto hole #4, the course conditions drop in quality tremendously. The fairway plays like rough, and the rough plays like borderline regular grass. The course's greens are okay, however they are incredibly fast, almost like putting on concrete. The course's restaurant is solid. It's good to see that this course is open again, as the layout is very good, but there is a LONG way to go for course conditions to return to their previous status. They should have not opened for this season and let the grass cultivate for another few months.
Hope to see an improvement!!
Poor value for an $80 round
Greens are fast and in decent shape. The rest of the course is in terrible shape. Pace of play was slow. Will not be playing this course again for a while until they fix the fairways and rough.
Lone Ranger- No Ranger
Course was just ok condition. Greens good. Fairways ok but thin. Rough was, well, pretty rough. Tee boxes were ok..after all you are hitting off a tee! There is a lack of fringe/grass around the greens resulting in lengthy run-offs on shots that narrowly miss the green. The biggest complaint was slow play. Waited on every shot due to following a 4-some that acted as if every shot was for the championship of the world. 2-3 practice swings before every shot after analyzing the shot 5 different ways. NO RANGER in sight. 4.5+ hour round.
Greens great, bunkers in great shape, fairways and rough poor.
Slowly Coming Into Its Own
After having been closed for the past 5+ years, the course opened several months ago under new management. The layout remains essentially the same with few changes. However, the course has yet to fully grow in from its recent renovation and repair after several years of abandonment. Greens are in good condition but there are some dead areas on the fairway as well as a few wet muddy areas (not sure if these are drainage issues or are under repair.) Regardless, if you can get a round for under $45, it represents a good value. Over time, I expect the course to grow into its own and rival many of the better courses in the area.
Not quite there yet.
First time playing since it reopened. Always loved the layout. Still very little grass off the fairways and needs a lot more reseeding etc. The greens are actually in decent shape. Our tee-off was a half hour behind and the starter seemed to keep letting twosomes pair up and go ahead of us. Then the groups were very slow and had little golf etiquette. Not sure when or if we will go back.
Great Track! Greens are Perfect!!!
Green are perfect! There are definitely some areas they are struggling with drainage and the grounds closer to the greens can be really soft but, it shouldn’t stop you enjoying this gem! This course is really coming along! Staff is amazing throughout the club! Huge Fan!
