About
Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is carved from gently rolling hills located just outside of Orlando in the city of Leesburg. Although the wide fairways are relatively flat, the golf course's terrain provides the greens with gentle undulation. Sparkling lakes provide scenery while also coming into play as water hazards on nine holes. There are also doglegs and bunkers throughout to provide the golf course with even more challenges. Much of the land that the club occupies has been preserved as a wetlands area, offering golfers a glimpse of native wildlife. In addition to its natural beauty, Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is popular due to its accessible layout that accommodates both low and high handicap players.

Great course
Very friendly staff that go out of their way to help. The course is in great shape, especially the greens.

Fun course to play
We have played here several times over the last 6 years and have always had a great time. The staff are always friendly and they get you on the course as quickly as possible.
Thoroughly enjoyed our first round this season!
My husband and I were both looking forward to our first round of golf having just arrived in Florida that week. We wanted to do the first round as a couple just to get back in the swing of things, but much to our amazement, it was a 1 p.m. shotgun start when we had booked our tee time for 12:34 p.m. We were paired up with a couple of gentlemen to make it a foursome. The course itself was in great condition and the foursome was totally compatible. We will certainly return for another round now with the knowledge that shotgun start is how the tee offs are arranged. Suggestion: the website should have stated shotgun starts!
We happen to play a shut gun without noticing at booking this tee, paired with nice couple we had a great time , fairways in good condition and greens rolling true
Enjoyable golf day. When we signed in with pro shop we were placed with another couple. Got along quite well and had a good round. . Course was well maintained with a few repair spots.

Worse golf course I’ve ever played
This course is not on my replay list because. First they were seeding the fairways so cart path or rough only THATS fine, but the tee boxes were very deep in grass, hasn’t been cut in days. The greens had weed patches and very unlevel grass. It was a shot gun start at 8 am. We finished behind a group of 3 ladies 4 and a quarter hours later.
The complete course suffers from cheapness. From the very cheese tee box indicators to flag sticks on the very flimsy side. Best part of this day is my fee on line with golf now, and leaving the course. It’s not that I complain much, I enjoy golf and I’m a 4 handicap today I shot a 74, but didn’t enjoy a single moment.
Another enjoyable day at The Monarch
The course is in great shape however it looks like they are getting ready to over seed. We saw the greens keepers on the course later in the day top dressing the greens. As is generally the case the course provides a challenge even though it tips out at just over 6000 yards. From the Black Tees there are three or four difficult terms shots that can eat your lunch and ruin a round. Otherwise it’s very playable from all tees.
GREAT MORNING WITH 3 AMIGOS FROM PLANTATION
VERY FOGGY AND OVERCAST FOR 9 HOLES,BACK 9 SUNNY AND WARM. PLAYED WITH 3 AMIGOS FROM PLANTATON GOLF COURSE AREA. HAD GREAT TIME GOLF GAME NOT FOGGY HT EVERY FAIRWAY AND 13 GREENS. CORSE FINE SHAPE GREENS WERE LTTLE QUICK AFTER SUN DRED THEM OUT. OVERALL NICE DAY GREAT COMPANY

Friendly day of golf
At this golf coarse they had a shotgun start on the day of golf which goes pretty smooth considering the amount of people their. I was paired up with other golf now member and that’s fun to here about the other golf courses they played. The coarse was in good shape ,fairways nice and smooth and the were in good shape too.
