Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands
About
Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is carved from gently rolling hills located just outside of Orlando in the city of Leesburg. Although the wide fairways are relatively flat, the golf course's terrain provides the greens with gentle undulation. Sparkling lakes provide scenery while also coming into play as water hazards on nine holes. There are also doglegs and bunkers throughout to provide the golf course with even more challenges. Much of the land that the club occupies has been preserved as a wetlands area, offering golfers a glimpse of native wildlife. In addition to its natural beauty, Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is popular due to its accessible layout that accommodates both low and high handicap players.

AVERAGE PUBLIC COURSE
I liked the course layout, however there were some greens that need to be looked at because they were becoming over run with weeds. The fairways and tees were average for a public course the has good potential.

GREAT value for the price. Awesome layout... good challenge from any tee box... we’ll be back soon!
Fantastic conditions
Even with all the rain in this area the course is on excellent conditions and the prices are very reasonable, excellent staff and good food.
Great Golf Course
I have always enjoyed playing at the monarchs of Royal islands. The maintenance is done very well the course is always in good shape and it is very forgiving for the intermediate golfer.

great time with the bumpy greens
Greens were just punched but had been sanded and played good for what was done, slower than expected but we were all playing the same greens! Had some trouble with finding balls in the rough - but our fault, don't hit there!?! Lpts of good shots and too many bad, again we were just playing and enjoying ourselves.
enjoyed the outing
Have not played the course for about a year, had a great time, the pace of play was perfect, had to wait very little for the foursome in front of us, the threesome behind us kept us moving but not pushing.
The greens were fair, not super fast but nice to play. Fairways had plenty of grass (we have had rain recently which helps) and the tee boxes were good.
The course is close to us and we play many in the area, will play again soon.
Fantastic
This great golf course is in excellent condition, and even after we got heavy rains it maintains perfect conditions. All green is in perfect condition.
Fun outing
It was a shotgun start and I golfed with another couple that lives in the community. The pace was good we were never held up by group in front of us. Greens, & Fairways were in great shape. Nice layout.
TURKEY SHOOT
Don't go on Tuesday/Thursday afternoon, they have those "shoots". We didn't realize it. Even though they knew we weren't with the "groups", we still had to play as if we were in it - started on the 7th hole. Good pace - no one in front of us but, it got very humid. Didn't play too bad, several pars!! The staff was nice. The golf pro showed us a short cut to the 7th hole. The lady at the desk was very helpful. Nice place to play - we've played there b4 and will play there again!!
