About
Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is carved from gently rolling hills located just outside of Orlando in the city of Leesburg. Although the wide fairways are relatively flat, the golf course's terrain provides the greens with gentle undulation. Sparkling lakes provide scenery while also coming into play as water hazards on nine holes. There are also doglegs and bunkers throughout to provide the golf course with even more challenges. Much of the land that the club occupies has been preserved as a wetlands area, offering golfers a glimpse of native wildlife. In addition to its natural beauty, Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is popular due to its accessible layout that accommodates both low and high handicap players.

Well designed course.
My son and I enjoyed the course. It was well kept and and just enough challenge. I would recommend to a friend and will go back and play there again.
Worth the drive.
Live in The Villages but normally play a local course once a week. Foursome that played here all thought we should return. Green honest but a little slow. Tee blocks level. Water levels in all areas low and many parts of the course were dry because of low rain. With more water or watering fairways would be much nicer.
played the Golds which was lots of distance for 65 plusers

Great course......and even better greens. We were very impressed!
Good time at Monarch
This course was deceiving. Distance wasn't as important as placement. Select a tee shorter than you are used to. It was a good bargain at the price, although I'm not sure we got a deal. Greens were great! fairways a bit short of grass (used to playing in Wisconsin).
TWILIGHT
THE WIFE AND I TEE'D IT UP FOR SOME TWILIGHT GOLF SATURDAY AND IT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN A BETTER EVENING. THE COURSE WAS IN GREAT SHAPE AND AFTER WE MADE THE TURN WE HAD THE COURSE TO OURSELVES. IT WAS A WONDERFUL ROUND.
Not really royalty
There was nothing particularly wrong with this course. The greens and fairways were in good condition though the surrounding areas were a little parched. Perhaps had I played from the longest tees (6000yds) it would have presented more of a challenge but from anything farther forward it became very bland. Staff were very friendly but I just came away without any great desire to dash back.

The course is in great shape,The greens are really nice shape.....
fun course to play
called in the morning for afternoon tee time, the staff was great. got to the course about 45 minutes ahead of time and they put us out early. We played in just under 4 hours which is great for this time of the year. The greens were in good shape and the fairways ok.
They have 4 sets of tees so it makes it great for all golfers, not a long course, but some challenging holes.
Will definitely go back when in the area.

Fun layout I always enjoy playing here the fairways could use some more watering the greens are usually at a Moderate speed
Surprisingly Tough for a Short Course
Played in the afternoon shotgun, well organized by the staff. Playing partner wanted to play the back tees, pointing out that total yardage was only 6018 from the tips. Even though it's short, the course has some clever design features, forced carries and choked down entries to the fairway off the tee, that make it play much harder than the yardage would indicate, so it was fun and difficult at the same time. Very good fairways and greens, had a great time.
Longer next timne
The course was in great shape. If you're a longer hitter, play the black boxes.
Great Greens
Course is tight on the front, some of the back tees are a little hard to find. Not used much by the residents. Nice elevation changes on the backside. Makes for a fair test as local knowledge helps. Enjoyable day and we'll return.
