About
Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is carved from gently rolling hills located just outside of Orlando in the city of Leesburg. Although the wide fairways are relatively flat, the golf course's terrain provides the greens with gentle undulation. Sparkling lakes provide scenery while also coming into play as water hazards on nine holes. There are also doglegs and bunkers throughout to provide the golf course with even more challenges. Much of the land that the club occupies has been preserved as a wetlands area, offering golfers a glimpse of native wildlife. In addition to its natural beauty, Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is popular due to its accessible layout that accommodates both low and high handicap players.

Nice course to keep in your everyday practice rounds
This place is usually in good shpe but this time the greens needed to be mowed. they were fuzzy and slow. dont know if they recently worked on the greens.
Also this course is not long, played the tips and they were just over 6000 yds.
Course conditions
like a lot of public courses now they just can't afford to keep it up.
Course condition has gotten in bad shape.
I will not play this course again until improvements are made to condition of the fairways and greens.
Straight forward layout
Well kept medium distance course. Water most of first 9 and more forgiving back 9 without. Almost eagled twice with my 8 year old son planning shots on the garmin. Would recommend to friends for a leisure Sunday.
Fun course
The staff was friendly and the fairways were in good condition. Two greens had a little issue but it looks like they are on top of it and you did not have any playability issues.

course winds through over age 55 neighborhood but homes didn't come into play
Not much for the value
Course was extremely short...more of an executive course and therefore the cost was very high. Fairways were spare of grass and in some places the rough was a total lack of grass. The greens were in terrible shape on the back nine and very very slow. Had a terrible golfing experience for $45. I will never be back
Nice Layout
This was our 4th time playing this course. The holes are a good mix of design and it's enjoyable to play. All the fairways are in good shape. A couple of greens were being treated with something but they too were ok for putting.

Pleasant Experience
Played the 1pm Friday shotgun. The back tees are only 6018yds, but played longer. There are some challenging holes, but overall the layout won't intimidate your game. If your looking for a pleasant round of golf on a well-conditioned course, then monarch is a good choice.

Discovered this course through Golf Now and enjoyed the experience. A challenging well-designed course in very good condition. A definite replay.

This is a course to make you feel good about your game. If you keep ball in play you can score.
Great golf day
Course is in great shape. Greens run true and moderately fast. Had a great day of golf. Shotgun start is a great way to start your round. A great golf experience. I will play here again!
Short but tricky at times!
Very nice golf course. Not a lot of length but every hole is a little different and if you get wayward.....a big number can pop up. Slight elevation changes added to the course....I will definitely be back for another shot at a couple of the blind tee shots. Good fun!!
What a nice course !!!
I had seen this course on golf now many times but never tried it. Finally I thought I should give it a try and I am glad I did. This course was in really good shape compared to many around the area. The over seed had came in great and the greens putted well. This is a short course but you can find trouble if you try to bust a driver every time. Just an overall great facility. From the guys checking you in to the members playing, a pleasant experience. I will be going back here a whole lot more.

Highly recommend this course. Very well maintained. Greens had consistent roll. Fairways nice and green. Staff goes out if its way to accommodate players. GO. PLAY!

The course is laid out well. Challenging. Some greens were relatively small. Fairways, greens and tee boxes were in great condition.
Hope to Play Again
Due to a real estate transaction my wife and I were running late. Called the course and the friendly lady said no problem. Almost an hour late we were allowed to tee off on #1 and thoroughly enjoyed our hassle-free round.
The course is the finest one we played while vacationing in the area - fairways and greens were almost in late-spring like shape. Balls would roll forever while the greens presented many challenging undulations. Thinking a 2 p.m. tee-off would put us near dark at the end we finished just before dark.
We hope to get back again and play the course because we were treated so well and the course was a sheer pleasure to play.
