Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands
About
Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is carved from gently rolling hills located just outside of Orlando in the city of Leesburg. Although the wide fairways are relatively flat, the golf course's terrain provides the greens with gentle undulation. Sparkling lakes provide scenery while also coming into play as water hazards on nine holes. There are also doglegs and bunkers throughout to provide the golf course with even more challenges. Much of the land that the club occupies has been preserved as a wetlands area, offering golfers a glimpse of native wildlife. In addition to its natural beauty, Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is popular due to its accessible layout that accommodates both low and high handicap players.

Nice layout, challenging from the back tees
Liked it! ..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Excellent Condition at this time of the year!
Paired up with two locals on a windy day. Pace of play was excellent except at the second 9 when we caught up with two slow playing groups. Conditions of course were in very good shape with nice layout. Worth the drive from Orlando.
Thank you Monarch
This place is in great shape...greens are well paced and smooth, fairways look fantastic! Lets go back tomorrow!!
Great conditions, fast smooth greens
Nice track every time I come no matter the season. Today the pins were in tough spots and the greens rolled fast and true. One of my playing partners 4 putted from 15 feet - it was very challenging despite the courses short length (6000 from back tees). Will play again for sure
Just the best!
We have played 70+ courses in Central Florida and The Monarch at Royal Highlands is at the top of the list. Beautifully maintained, challenging but with fair forward tees for us senior citizens, and the friendliest people I've encountered. I can't believe I haven't come here before, but I'll certainly be back soon and often.
Best condition yet
This golf community course shows pride of ownership. Well maintained and the recent heavy rains improved playing conditions from the dryness we often experienced previously. No rough to speak of, so generous hitting areas. Greens putted well with a good mixture of elevations and undulations. Sand traps very playable. All in all will be an enjoyable experience for golfers of most levels. Will not be overly challenging for low handicappers.
Well kept course. Not long.
Course was in very good shape. We started fairly late in the afternoon and were a little worried we would not finish before dark but after the front nine were able to play the back in an hour and fifteen minutes.
Very nice condition
This was a very nice course with well maintained and average speed greens, generous plush fairways and is very woman and senior friendly. We enjoyed our round and will be back again.
OK Course, a bit short, but would play again.
Typical 3* course, . . . not a bad experience, but not at the high end conditions or experience one gets at better courses. Staff was great and friendly, some of the members appear to be a bit cold (one hit past us on the fairway while we were waiting, yes, past us, and then could not come up to apologize when they got to the green). I suspect they may not desire outside players. Course is short, just 6000+ yards plus from their 'Tiger' tees. I wouldn't have called them Tiger, but that is really the name they put on the card. Next set of tees down was less than 5500 yards. Unlike some shorter courses, this was not target golf, just get the ball in play off the tee and you have a good short approach. Front 9 has water on 8 of the 9 holes, back nine goes up on a hill and has some scenic holes. Overall, we would play again if we were looking for a last minute round to spend our day and other closer options are busy.
Love putting on these greens!
Another great round . Always enjoy playing here. Went through the dining room on the way out and I regretted not having time for the buffet!
very nice course
The course needs a lot of placement shots being the first time would like to play again and possible to approach from different angles next time.
Nice challenge
From the tips a little over 6K but the course is set up very well. Will play again. Hopefully on a less windy day. Fast greens, definately have to pay attention to the slopes in the greens. Give the course a try and you will be glad you did.
Friendly course
Have played this course many times. Always enjoy playing here. While it wasn't in it's usual "excellent" condition it was very nice. Many opportunities to score well. Fun to play , with no killer holes. We'll be back
Slow play by members
I like they have a lot of different varieties of holes
We got behind two foursomes of members the Second foursome was two holes Behind at the end of 18 holes took close to four hours to play this short course they need a ranger to have members pick up the Pace of play
The course is great for all golfers
The course is user friendly, great conditions, friendly staff, and well laid out with 4 sets of tees
Nice course to keep in your everyday practice rounds
This place is usually in good shpe but this time the greens needed to be mowed. they were fuzzy and slow. dont know if they recently worked on the greens.
Also this course is not long, played the tips and they were just over 6000 yds.
