About
Windy Harbor Golf Club is a military golf course located at the Mayport Naval Station, it was formerly known as the Mayport Golf Club. The seaside course now takes its name from the blustery ocean breezes that sweep through the back nine. The golf course is narrow with tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens that are slightly sloped. There is also a defined cut of rough beside every fairway. Greenside bunkers and water hazards that come into play on nearly every hole make the course challenging for players of all abilities. Windy Harbor Golf Club also has practice facilities for golfers to use that include a driving range with grass and carpeted practice tees, a practice sand trap, and a large putting green.

Golfer Reviews
Terrific greens
Best greens you will play at any public course you will play. Soft on your approach shots and most fairways in good shape. Not a hard course but has some challenges and especially when there is wind.
Great Value
The course is in great shape and offers numerous challenges for every level of golfer. Office staff and starters are very friendly. The restaurant and bar menu are perfect for breakfast and lunch. Great value for the money.
Navy Country Club
Favorite golf course in JAX.Windy Harbor is always in great shape, fast pace of play and a friendly staff in Pro-shop and Bogey's bar.
You don't get conditions like this at this price anywhere else in Jacksonville
Windy Harbor is not Augusta National, but you not only get to play Windy Harbor but it's affordable and one of the best maintained courses in town! It's not long, but when the wind blows 15-20 MPH it will give you all you want, especially on the back nine.
I'd like to keep it a secret!
This is one of the little known gems among Jacksonville golf courses. No, it doesn't have a dramatic piece of land, majestic trees or stunning vistas, but it's a good solid little course that has some teeth especially when the wind blows. It is almost always in great condition; I would even say perfect, if more players would help out the greens staff a little more by sanding their divots and repairing ball marks. Just don't tell too many people!!
NAS Mayport
Great course for the money. You must be military, retired military with a card, escorted by a sponsor or have your mwr card to get access in the base to play.
Ranks with the best in the area
Thia course can be considered as one if the best courses in the area. Well maintained while fees are a fraction compared to expensive courses.
One of the great deals in JAX
Windy Harbor is almost always in excellent condition despite having a few holes on low ground and getting the occasional downpour. It is a fun layout and if you get the frequent 15 MPH plus breeze it will make you hit every club in your bag and challenge the best players despite its shortness. Bob Kelly, the super has done a great job making this a consistently well manicured layout for over 20 years!! Getting a Hot Deal makes it all even better!
Great Course, Horrible Management
This course is in amazing shape and I'd give it 5 stars throughout but there is one exception. The lady running it. Golf Now users are treated as second class citizens and looked down upon because we don't pay full price when using the hot deals. And although I'm active military and have 100% access to the base because I'd rather pay $17 and not $35 they have no time for us. On this occasion, we were at the course an hour and a half early, nobody teed off but when the golf now users were there they bunched all the groups together, if they don't like golf now, why have the course on the app?
Great Course
The course is in excellent shape. Staff friendly and professional. My only complaint no cart person on course to buy refreshments!
Ok for the price
Enjoyed the course, layout was fun alittle tough first time because of some blind tee shots but holes are laid out on score card. Greens are the best I've seen so far in Jacksonville
Decent course. Stuffed a lot of course in a little space.
Great cheap golf. Payed under $40 for me and my son (14). Only down side was a foursome in front of us decided to stop and eat lunch at the course restaurant, and then hop back in slowing up play on the back nine. The fairways are tight on the back 9. There are greens next to tee boxes and balls flying everywhere when it was crowded. I wanted to try it, nice to play somewhere new. I'll stick with my home course though.
