Trump National Doral Miami - Silver Fox Course
About
The Silver Fox Course (formerly known as Jim McLean Course) is one of five 18-hole courses at Trump National Doral Miami. The courses offer a good game for players of any skill level. Unlike the Gold Course at the resort, the Silver Fox Course does not follow a traditional Floridian layout. There are elevated tee boxes and greens and narrow, rolling fairways. The golf course features an interesting variety of holes, short and long. Water hazards come into play on 16 holes of the 18 holes and there are also bunkers situated throughout. The course's signature hole is the 14th, which has an island green.

Foursomw
Booked on golf now , excellent course for the value, have played the others at Doral , this is challenging , but good.
Worth it
Definitely worth the money spent on Golf Now. The course was in excellent shape. Yes, there is about a 10 minute drive over, but who cares, you're here for golf, not racing.
It's a challenging course, with lots of water and well placed bunkers. Highly recommended!! It's a course I'm going to play again.
Excellent !
Just what we expected ! Awesome course and staff !
Rain check
Could only play 9 holes because of the weather, I would be very happy if I could get a rain check to play the other 9.
Fun course
Great course for al levels. Greens are in great condition.
Good course , but too slow
he game too late , had two very slow group in front of me and not let go . the first 9 holes were good but I gave up on the 14th, the game was very slow. almost an hour and a half to 5 holes
Outstanding day
The Silver course is far from the club house, and signage was minimal, probably due to the tournament the previous weekend. Once found though, the day was amazing. Excellent condition throughout; Paired with good people. Friendly staff. I will definintely be back.
Waste of Money!!!
Not worth the price!! Much better courses in Florida for a third of the price. Arip off!
Dora Silver Fox--Don't waste your money
The Doral Silver Fox course is an nearby neighborhood course that Doral bought and redid. To get there you have a 7-10 minute cart ride through other courses where people are playing (so dodging tee shots etc) then across a city street. Currently the course is cart path only although nobody tells you this. It's also not included on GPS, so you have no way to get your distance since you can't drive the cart to your ball to use the GPS in the cart. The neighborhood where the course is located is very run down and parts are actively ugly, so you're paying top dollar to play cartpath golf in a not very pretty setting. It doesn't in any way feel like you're golfing at Doral. It's a total waste of money unless all you care about is buying a shirt in the pro shot and pretending to your friends that you golfed at Doral.
last day before closure
it was the last day before closure and the course was not in good condition. the course will re-open in December and the maintenance was not every good.
cart paths only UGH!!
even though they say 90 degree rule it was cart paths only after a rain. to much walkin for the money.
Not worth the price
Very difficult to find, drove around the course 3 times, the street that it is on is a broken street, broken in several sections. There were very few people on the course so I got to play 27 holes. Nice layout but greens were inconsistent, speed and reads. Sand traps were terrible, had to bump and run out of them. This course was not worth the $133 US I paid, and that was a discount on Golfnow.com. I would only recommend it at less than $100, this is normally $220, not worth that at all.
Fantastic
There are no words to describe this course. Very challenging, and greens and fairways were prefect. Greens running at 11-11.5 but still receptive even with long irons
Will absolutely play again!
Great course fast greens
The course was in excellent condition. We were nearly the only ones on the course so that was very nice. The greens are super quick so make sure to practice before you go out. Tee boxes are in good condition and fairways are better than most in Miami. Overall I had a good experience.
Almost perfect
Paid $60.00 for the round...very good price, but anything much higher, it won't happen.
Staff was awesome...
My only complaint was on the GPS, 7-8 pin locations were wrong...I've used this GPS many times, and it was an oversite on these holes that they didn't move the pin.
One resulted in the water, two holes end up being monster putts which resulted in 3 putts..pay attention to the details folks...
Think Donald Trump (Pompus & Expensive) - albeit an experience
I stopped counting after $600 for the round. The course was spectacular, the fairways superb, the greens immaculate. Even tempered and consistent greens rolled an even 10 to 11 on the stimp. I would suggest one saves their pennies and plays it once for the experience, however here's the tally. $20 (parking), $20 (for a sandwich), $10 (ea water), $80 (you are assigned a forecaddie), $400 (Blue Monster greens fee), $80 (tips for cart girl and caddy), $10 (Club care to/from valet), and you can warm up off rubber practice mats. My suggestion is to book a tee time early, and get to the course to get your bearing as it's in downtown Miami, and loaded with traffic, road construction, and serpentine multiple exits and merge requirements. It's right next to the airport, so expect a 777 to fly over ever 2 minutes or so.
Great outing
Although the round was well over 4 hours I could not complain because Jim Mclean was giving an on course lesson in the group in front of me. So not only did I get to play a great round of golf, I also had eighteen holes to witness the teaching (from a distance) of a great instructor. It was well worth it. The course is in great shape and the greens are super fast and true.
Good condition
But cheaper is better.
Course is hard, not recommend to the beginner.
Excellent Course
The course is in great condition. Greens are consistent across all 18 holes, excellent facilities only missing a driving range for warm up.
I have not tried the food so I cannot provide any feedback on that.
Staff is very friendly.
Challenging course especially from the tips (blue or black) no better thing to do than to play this course on a perfect weather day
Doral McClean course
No practice range which was a poor start. Course is strong and greens are excellent, very pure to putt on, however place looks slightly dated. Staff were helpful. overall a good experience.
