Trump National Doral Miami - Silver Fox Course
About
The Silver Fox Course (formerly known as Jim McLean Course) is one of five 18-hole courses at Trump National Doral Miami. The courses offer a good game for players of any skill level. Unlike the Gold Course at the resort, the Silver Fox Course does not follow a traditional Floridian layout. There are elevated tee boxes and greens and narrow, rolling fairways. The golf course features an interesting variety of holes, short and long. Water hazards come into play on 16 holes of the 18 holes and there are also bunkers situated throughout. The course's signature hole is the 14th, which has an island green.

Golfer Reviews
Good Golf, Wonderful Place, too many people to tip!
Golf was great. The facility is what you would expect, elegant, perhaps over the top. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. I especially liked the starter who ended our short conversation with, "You're going to have a great time today!"
I know that tipping is optional, but I find myself feeling cheap if I don't. Between the valet, the pre starter, the starter, the player's helper and more... I tipped darn near as much as the round of golf.
The course was great and I'm glad I did it. I'd recommend it once.
I'm typically a $50-$80 per round guy, so this was a splurge. Again, worth it for me once. If this is your price range, you'll love it. If you're more in my price range or below, you won't feel like there's value.
Just ok for a Trump course
I found this course just to be ok, I played the a Golden course in November and found it to be way ahead of this course.
This course looks like it was a separate private course and was bought and reconfigured so it could be part of the Doral complex.
The course is in very good condition and the layout is good but not worth the money we paid, play any of the other three Doral courses and you won't be disappointed.
Doral complex is certainly worth the trip just to see how the other half live, staff were excellent and very helpful.
Its harder than you would expect...
It is important to be very accurate with distance on this course. The course tests your patience and creativity. It is a tough course to play well so don't go in with high expectations, Bring a few extra balls as well.
Be prepared to spend 20.00 on valet parking, and 20 dollars in tips. Use Valet because the parking lot charges you as well and it can actually cost you more. Make time to visit the Champions Bar and Grill. Your first drink is only a penny for every stroke on your score card.
They have lockers and showers you can use if needed. Which is nice if traveling and will be catching a flight afterwards.
Great Course
Great Course, private club conditions on the green. Need to drive the ball well to score well.
Top tier course in South Florida
I booked the silver fox at a killer deal on golfnow, $65. This is supposed to be the cheaper of the Trump National Doral courses. If this is the cheapest, I can't even imagine how nice the red course and the blue monster can be. I don't have any complaints at all about this course. Pros: Great layout, very challenging course, greens rolled at the perfect speed (not too fast, not too slow), perfectly manicured tees, fairways and greens, GPS on the carts, complementary range balss, friendly staff and good pace of play. One can definitely tell that Trump spent a pretty penny renovating the Doral courses. Can't wait to try this course again and to try the other Trump National Doral courses.
Trump Doral
A long drive in cart to bridge then a super great track in absolutely perfect condition between homes in Doral. What an amazing course ! Highly recommend
Above average conditions, beautiful club house
Trump doral silver fox course was a great value at $45 per round on last minute golf.com. Course was well maintained and had allot of sand traps. Greens were all in great shape. Staff was very friendly. One of the most impressive club houses I've ever seen. Only negative was getting bagged for a mandatory $20 valet bill for parking your car.
Great experience @ Silver Fox Golf Course
Great course with nice scenery. I recommend all golf courses at Trump International. Great Proshop with very friendly staff, great food at the Champion's Sports bar and grill.
this course has great features
his course has great features
Great Day on The Links
Pure golf. Don't need fancy amenities that people seem to miss. Cart girl came around 5 times so no issue there. A long drive to the first tee but starting from the tips the game began. Beautiful course impeccably manicured and greens rolling about 10 and true. Bunkers fabulous sand and well kept. Collar transitions absolutely perfect. Great company ,perfect weather apart from a 1.5-2 club wind made this a challenging but very enjoyable and highly recommended round. Better than the red or gold courses for a good golfer.
Awesome Course/Facility
Booked through GolfNow on a great rate at 12:30 in the afternoon. Conditions were the best I have ever played on and I've played my share of nice/expensive courses.
Played the black tees and for about a 9 handicap, it was a real challenge. Tee shots need to be accurate or you will find water/trouble. Not to mention a long 260 yard par 3 mixed in.
Greens were fast and smooth as glass. And tee boxes and fairways were prefect. Honestly can't say enough good things about the conditions.
Staff was friendly and very helpful if any questions needed to be answered. Free range balls and nice practice facilities were great too.
Doesn't stop me from playing here again but I will say just be ready for the valet parking fee. Paid $20 to valet and that was after a reduced rate for dining in the champions club.
Can't wait to get back to this course and eventually try to tackle the Blue Monster. Great day!
Excellent course and value
This course is challenging, especially from the back (Gold). The greens are firm and fast but they roll true, if you read them correctly. The only negative is the time to get to the first tee box.
Great greens
This was my first time playing at the new Siver Fox . The course was in great shape and the greens rolled very true! Had a great price for the course, but would have payed more for this excellent golf course. The staff all where very friendly !
Great course & amenities
The course is very nice, challenging and in good condition. The amenities are excellent.
Great experience
All you could ask for. The pace of play was great. The conditions were terrific. And the course provides all of the challenge you could want. Of course all of the amenities are first class at the resort. The silver course is an excellent value. Select your tees carefully. There are many carries over water off of the tee. The island green provides a fun challenge.
Nice design
Course conditions were great. Greens were smooth and fast. Fairways good despite a lot of recent rain. Pace of play was good. Staff was very helpful. I played the back nine in the rain. Greens and fairways drained well.
Perfect Day.. A Must Play
This was the last course we played on our boys trip and it was worth the wait.. First off we found an amazing deal on GolfNow. The second that we arrived, we were greeted by very friendly and welcoming staff. The day is really an experience. The facilities were the best I have ever been to in my life as a golfer.
The course from 1st tee to 18th green was amazing, and flawless. Grrens were fast and true, bunkers were well kept, fairways were in great conditions and the ball rolled.
Island green 7th hole is a special hole to play. I splashed it in the water but managed to save my bogey.
We also took a spin by the blue monster on the way back as they were setting up for the GDC. Cant say many more good things about our experience. Would love to someday go back and play all of the courses on the property because they look that good
So glad we came
We were thrilled to find a discounted rate with a later tee time so we could play here. The resort is over the top. It was a real thrill.
This one of its four courses used to be off-premises, we were told, until Trump built this amazing bridge over the highway to access it in golf carts. It is a good 6 minute drive from the starter.
However, we owned it! Never saw other golfers until the 17th hole. We played around noon on a Monday in February. I'm a high handicap but my husband is a good golfer and we both enjoyed it.
The course did have a lot of unrepaired divots but we played winter rules and didn't mind. The staff were all very good; not stuffy or pretentious like many high end resorts.
