Costa Del Sol Golf Club

About
Just a short distance southwest of the Miami International Airport, the golf course at Costa dels Sol Golf Club is a challenging public course that also boasts scenic views. Although the terrain is mostly flat, this course's difficult comes from the narrow fairways that are lined with trees. The greens are medium sized with some being slightly elevated. Water hazards come into play on the majority of the holes and there are also some sand bunkers as well. The signature hole of the course is the par 3 14th hole, which requires a tee shot past water. Costa del Sol Golf Club also has five long, narrow par 5s as well as some scenic par 3s.

Course Renovation Really Paid Off!
Congratulations on a great redo. I felt like the course condition had improved dramatically since my last visit.
Juan at the pro shop was great and we will definitely play here again.
Need a Marshall on the course
I was in a twosome, and we caught up to the group in front of us, also a twosome, but their handicap must have been around 50 (no joke). We kindly asked them on the 13th tee if we could play that hole with them and then continue on our own, since we were undoubtedly going to finish much sooner than they would. What do you think happened? They said no, and no kidding, one of them hit 3 balls off that tee, with the last one barely going 60 yards.
My partner left because the pace was so slow; I stayed, and it took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to play the last 6 holes—almost the same amount of time it took us to play the first 12 holes. There was no marshal on the course to manage the situation.
Players who can’t keep a decent pace of play shouldn’t be allowed to play before noon.
Solid course
Overall good track. It’s got a nice challenging layout. Tee boxes could use some work, as some are completely covered in sand. Fairways are average, lots of crab grass throughout but playable. Greens were decent but needed to be cut. Grass was long making them extremely slow. Overall, I would play there again because it’s got a great layout, although super narrow. Staff was super friendly and even had a card girl out on a Thursday after 4 which is not typical for a course but a big plus.
Not worth $65
I had high hopes for this course since it had renovations earlier this year. Realistically, it was not good. Greens were either in good condition or full of dirt and dry grass. Fairways were non existent as the grass was made up of weeds and hard dirt. Tee boxes were okay. GPS in the carts was nice, but I don’t know if that’s why they increased the green fees so much to compensate for that. If you’re in Miami, go to Miami Springs or the Miccosukee for actual fairways and solid course conditions for the same exact price.
