Perfect Round of Golf
I had a very good time at River Oaks. The course was in great shape, the pace of play was good, and the weather was perfect.

I have played here many times but not for a few years. The course was in the best shape I had ever seen it! Kudos to grounds staff!!
Nick & staff!!!
The owner Nick Podesto and his staff of groundkeepers have done a FANTASTIC job getting the course in great condition!!! Also the clubhouse employees are always polite & friendly!!!
Perfet Day of Golf
This was as close to a perfect day of golf that one could have. The only minor blemish was the greens. They were sanded approximately 3 weeks ago, and still a little bumpy.
Pace of play.
Course is decent for this time of year, but pace of play was horrendously slow. Anytime you’ve to play over 5 hours? It’s gonna be a bad day! But love the course.
Great value for the price
The course was very busy, on a Sunday morning I was only able to get through 13 holes in four hours. They were very nice to play. The condition of the fairways were quality. Free warm up bucket for the range which was so grass, no mats. Cartb was included for the price of the green fees. They had a players booklet with a description of each hole and green with a space for notes. I will play there again soon.
Going downhill
I’ve played this course several times and actually recommended a lot to people it’s fairly forgiving in the course for the price actually used to be very well-maintained. I don’t know what happened in the last six months to a year but the fringes are shot the fairways are not in good shape anymore. there’s a lot of weeds and crab grass growing now where it used to be very nice and manicured . granted the greens were aerated today so that is not part of why I am making this review that’s understandable. Overall I’m glad that I got a hot deal and only paid 22 bucks I would’ve been really mad had it been 35 or $45 it’s just not worth it the carts are old And the course conditions themselves like I said I’ve gone downhill. Hopefully the course while I’m there some of the money on maintaining the fairways and the fringe like they used to.

The greens were still in bad shape, because of the recent sanding. Otherwise, the round would have been excellent.

Course needs some attention
The course was very rough. None of the tee boxes are level, hard to tell the fairways from the rough. They need some serious maintenance on the course. Greens were just punched so they were extremely bumpy. Would not recommend this course….. Hopefully the owner of the course reads this so this course can get the much needed care it deserves…
Punched and sanded
Was not informed by golfnow about greens being in such bad conditions. Punched and sanded just days prior to playing.
The Round of Golf was Enjoyable
The greens had just been sanded, and were obviously in bad shape. Everything else about the round was very good.
