Riverwood Golf Club

We were looking forward to playing Riverwood as we loved the course but we had not played it since COVID..

We arrived at 120 for our 1252 tee time. Surprising very few cars in parking lot. Thought that was a pleasant surprise. When checking in at pro shop we were told it was cart path only as they were overseeding the fairways. We had prepaid $180 for my wife and I so we decided to go ahead.

As it was not busy I asked if we could go early as no one was one the tee and we forego the wonderful practice facility they have. The staff were very accommodating. The starter told us, 1) cart path only, 2) the sprinkler may come on at anytime 3). Fairways has not been cut in several day and tone cautious if we heard them coming on.

To make a long story short. 1) course was a wetland, Basically a lot of casual water and some pooling in the fairways, 2) cart path only is also a hassle having to carry 3 of 4 clubs across a fairway only to discover you still have the wrong club. Was more difficult for my wife who just hit whatever club she had in her hand.

Greens are pretty good. Surprised to see clover on one very small patch on one green. 3) a lot of storm damage off the fairways. Use to be a very beautiful course but going to be year to clean it up. No one fault.nature happens.

Staff are wonderful. From the greeter, to the proshop, starter and of course the friendly beverage lady.

But overall. A big disappointment paying $180 to play this course. Heritage landing and Heron creek are a much better course for less money.

From the moment we stepped out of the car , until we left everything was outstanding.. everybody we came in contact with was super friendly, and the course is an absolute gem..if ever in the area it’s a must play.. Very challenging, but very fair..,

Course is in version good condition. I will say this, it’s nice but not worth $100 and I was told the price is going to $175 in January. I will not pay that for a round of golf. The course is a $75 course in season a$45 off season

Because the LPGA Q School was at The Plantation we needed an alternative and this proved to be a great one. Course is well maintained, despite the recent Hurricane (Ian)

Got sick on 3 rd hole had to quit. Course told me to get a rain check from Golf Now. Any help be appreciated.

They got their money I would appreciate a rain check for another round.

Waited on every shot! Round took almost 5 hours! Checked with rangers and claim they said something to slow group but didn’t work. We literally saw person in group hitting two balls rather than taking red stake penalty! Will play again just not on weekends! Amenities were lacking but due to hurricane Ian not courses fault!

Course in good shape except greens that just received some maintenance. Almost 5 hours turnaround time! Nice pro-shop employee, but Starter was nit as friendly as it used to be….
