We found the course to be challenging, well taken care of and worth the experience.

Course is in pretty good condition some of the greens needs some improvement recommend playing

I work at a golf shop in North Fort Myers and had heard numerous golfers rave about Riverwood. Finally had a chance to check it out and they weren't lying. It's an unusual course for Florida with a lot of mature trees lining fairways. A lot of water (like most Florida courses!) and the water comes into play quite often. Small greens. If your iron game isn't up to par you'll be chipping a lot! If you are on the green then you've probably got a decent look at birdie. Greens rolled superbly. Read the putt right and you'll make the putt. I loved this course. You have to be able to shape some tee shots and there really aren't any carbon copy holes! Some are both challenging and appealing to the eye. I got caught in heavy traffic going through Port Charlotte and was a few minutes late for my tee time. The person behind the counter was very gracious and got me out a bit later so I could hit some balls. All in all a great experience and I will return again!

It was a great experience playing Riverwood. The staff at the front desk was extremely helpful introducing me to the course for my first time. The course itself was in great shape. Interesting layout with great views. It was a bit challenging without gps in the carts. Overall, I would highly recommend this course.

Don't Play. Riverwood appears to center their marketing approach around a positive ranking from Golf Advisor in 2018 and before; quite frankly I'm curious what Riverwood had to offer Golf Advisor for said rankings.

First and foremost, the golfing experience starts when you arrive, not when you get to the first tee, to describe the staff as rude, particularly the starter would be polite.

The carts are without GPS, which is no make or break for a course, but definitely lowers its rating seeing as its standard for any other golf course in Florida at this price point ($)30+.

As for the course, the layout was average, your typical gated community track. I had thought with such rating on GolfNow/golfadvisor that there would be at least one special hole, that was apparently too wishful thinking.

Hopefully, this review will help persuade those thinking they will enjoy their experience to look elsewhere. If not, at least I tried to help ...'

Golf carts should be updated otherwise it is a perfect golf venue.

Great staff top to bottom, even for non members. Top notch course conditions. Always look forward to playing Riverwood.

Course was in fantastic condition across the board. Definitely a tough course but a lot of fun to play. Will be back!
