Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course
About
Situated in the heart of Lowcountry, the Golf Club at Wescott Plantation is part of one of the area's oldest plantations. There are 27 holes of golf available at the club, which are divided into three nine-hole courses: Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin. Although each golf course has a different character and scenery, they are all dappled with centuries-old live oaks and wetlands. The Oak Forest Course takes its name from the original plantation and has wider fairways than the other two courses. Lush vegetation frames each hole and the classic bunkering embodies the traditional feel of the course. The eighth hole is the signature hole of the entire golf course, distinct for both its scenery and difficulty. Par will be tough on this par 3 with a lake bordering the entire left side.

Nice layout w pretty nice conditions.
Had a well paced round w my wife. Played 18 holes in just under 3 1/2 hrs. Greens rolled real nice and sand traps have recently been rejuvenated. Only thing that needs attention are many of the t- boxes. A number are bare and real chewed up. No evidence of top dressing which is surprising considering the time of year. Had a great time overall.
Fun play
Enjoyable experience. 27 holes eliminates waiting and feeling rushed.
Spring Conitions
Normally courses are wet this time of year.... this time out after playing there just last week the course is starting to look more like spring has arrived. Seeing the difference in just one week, I am sure this course is great to play when all the grass has greened up. Would play this again without hesitation.
Very nice layouts, challenging worth the money !!
I had a good time playing this track, first time it had just stop raining 1 day before so it was soggy second time it was a nice cool day and I realized that this course should be played in the summer or fall , the grass in fairways is dormant and it's really hard to get under the ball but then again for 17 dls thru golfnow. Com can't beat it,
Goooo playyy!!!
Good Value
Playable course with above average tee boxes, fairways, and sand traps, although not pristine. The greens typically roll the fastest in the North Charleston/Summerville area which is my favorite aspect of the course. I hate putting on slow greens, and Wescott's typically have good pace.
Another nice aspect is having 3 9 hole courses. Helps to spread out play and provide more variety, although weekends are very busy here so expect at least a 5 hour round on a weekend.
Overall, a great value through golfnow or their website. Good driving range and chipping green with a few sand traps to practice on as well. The bar and grill has good food and beverage options as well. A solid public course and definitely worth a weekday round for someone from out of town.
This course has good layout but poor condition.
The greens were fine but fairways & everything else was in very poor condition(no grass hard pan lies everywhere). The overall maintenance was very lacking.
Wescott Golf Club
Course after three days of rain was fairly well drained though we were confined to cart paths on every hole. Staff friendly and very helpful. Would love to go back when the course is dry.
Seeding
They had just seeded the tee boxs and the deer loved it. There was deer droppings ALL over the place. The clubhouse said it was due to the seeding and it wasn't always like that. It had rained a few days before we played so it was still damp and cart path only. I would have loved to have played the course when dry. It is a great course.
wescott
Course was fun to play. Due to rains for 2-3 days before our round the course was pretty muddy but would have been much better had it not rained so much.Staff was good and overall it was definitely worth the money.
HAS POTENTIAL
This is the only 27 hole course in the area and instead of the management using that to their advantage they don't. It always seems to be backed up! I think the starters should do a better job controlling the tee times. If I have a 8 AM tee time there should not be another group rolling up before we even tee off. This causes friction amongst the customers. Today was the worst there were actually three groups on each hole of the Burn Kill course! Another thing I noticed is when the course is busy there shouldn't any singles going out. This too causes friction amongst golfers. The foursome in front of a single shouldn't feel obligated to allow them to play through. A suggestion is to wait until they can be paired. so this doesn't back the course up. The staff is always friendly, but again they need to take a hard look at how they run the tee times. Another thing that would help the situation is to have Marshals riding around pushing those slow golfers that are not honoring the pace of play which is clearly written inside their carts. This very thing is why haven't become a member of the course!
Day Out
The course is still in its winter (natures) shutdown. Looking forward to mid spring outing.
very nice course
fairways were in very good condition, greens were very fast, hard to read. Overall, had a great time.
Decent course for the money
The course layout is a little different with three sets of nine holes and different combinations of the three is a good idea. The greens were in fair shape with the amount of rain and winter elements they were ok. Pretty easy layout with challenging areas.
Review= Overall I personally give them a B+.
Great Courses, but Greens could be better. It is a very Player Friendly and Fairly Difficult at certain parts. Be sure to tune in your Drivers for the many EXTREMELY LONG PARTNERSHIP 4 ' s & 5's! Also, some of the PARTNERSHIP 3 ' s are 200+ yards from the Blue Tee's, so also either tune in your Long Irons, or Hybrids. I thoroughly enjoy this course each time I play here, especially having the choices between their 3 different 9 Hole Courses! Remember, "GRIP IT AND RIP IT" & "LET THE BIG DOG EAT!" CHEERS!
Damp but well maintained
My two sons and I had played here before but my brother for the first time. We all felt the "course" (three nines) was both fair and tough. Recent rains made for plugged balls and lift/clean/place; however, the greens were in very good shape. The price I got from GolfNow and the process for confirmation and payment was excellent. I will use your services now to avoid digging through coupons and web garbage. Thanks.
Great Golf Day
The staff was super friendly and helpful. The course was in very good condition in spite of the winter weather and recent rain. The wet conditions made it "cart path only" which slowed down pace of play, but other than that, everything was excellent. We will play here again next time we visit Charleston.
Wet!!!!!
Golf course was very wet. I think it was built in swamp. The layout was very nice. I played all 27 holes and it was very fair for scoring. I would like to play the course when it isn't so wet.
Course was in good condition for the January.
My playing partner an I played from the retired tees and found the course fun. Fairways lies were tight with dormant Bermuda and the greens were hard and fast.
We had a great time.
