Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course
About
Situated in the heart of Lowcountry, the Golf Club at Wescott Plantation is part of one of the area's oldest plantations. There are 27 holes of golf available at the club, which are divided into three nine-hole courses: Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin. Although each golf course has a different character and scenery, they are all dappled with centuries-old live oaks and wetlands. The Oak Forest Course takes its name from the original plantation and has wider fairways than the other two courses. Lush vegetation frames each hole and the classic bunkering embodies the traditional feel of the course. The eighth hole is the signature hole of the entire golf course, distinct for both its scenery and difficulty. Par will be tough on this par 3 with a lake bordering the entire left side.

Love this course
I love playing this course. It is a fair test, but not overly difficult. A lot of variation to holes. Three nines which varies the experience. The pace of play could be a bit better, but the starter made an adjustment for the turn which improved the pace of the second nine. The greens were slick because of the time of year-grass not growing in December. Overall, I enjoy the course because of the fairness and variation of the 3 nines.
Wescott
Always a joy to play and I look forward to visiting this track each time I'm in the low country.
A Fun Course
I found the course to be fun and very challenging, love the course layout and the greens were very well maintained for this time of year. The greens were running straight and true. The starters and bag handlers were very friendly and very knowledgable of the courses. It was a real pleasure to be around the staff.o7o
Wescott Rocks!
If you are looking for a good value and great conditions then you have come to the right spot. Wescott has every amenity that a golfer is looking for - a great pro shop, excellent food, and three nine hole courses to choose from. It allows the golfer an opportunity to practice putting on large greens too. I would recommend this to anyone who lives locally or out of the area. Winner!
Variety
You will use all your clubs. 27 holes will not let you be bored.
Good day in bad weather
The course is in very good winter time conditions, some of the best greens in the Charleston area and the round won't break the bank.
Very well maintained course. Great natural features. Enjoyed the deer crossing the fairway on the 6th hole of Black Robin.
Enjoyed this challenging course and great staff. Despite the large crowd the day after Thanksgiving the staff kept everything flowing smoothly. Pace of play was great as well. Played Burn Kill and Black Robin and the greens were much faster on the former.
Courses would be much better if there were more vegetation to block the view of the houses along the fairways.
Plantation Class
These are beautiful 27 holes. We played Oak Forest and Burn Kill, as recommended, explaining the "Moderate" rating, with Black Robin much harder, apparently. Excellent design and condition throughout. Very friendly staff and convenient, tasty food in the clubhouse. Tops!
The employees at Wescott are top notch.
I have played at Wescott now several times and I am very impressed with the condition of the course every time I play there.
The staff is very friendly, courteous and informative during
your visit.
Thank you,
Randy
Greens and fairways are in great shape!
I like the course and play here from time to time. It is always a fun place to play.
Nice lay out..
There are 3 nines at this course. I played Black Robin which is the hardest of the 3, The greens were extremely fast to fast for my liking, but very true. There are water features on this course strategically place that usually have bramble and cattails (8 to 10 feet high) in the features, that were cut level with the ground. Which to me, took a little of the difficultly, 2 to3 strokes easier to play.
The other course I played was Oak Forest, which was in really good shape. The greens were very much to my liking. They were just a little softer, fast but not crazy fast. But still hard to hold.
I enjoyed playing here and want to go back and give it another try.
Great course and value
The course was great and the value was oustanding. I would recommend to my friend.
The "quicksand" "bluegrass"
I enjoyed playing this course. The rate was quite reasonable and the course was in good shape. The "bluegrass" seemed to swallow the ball at times making it difficult to find, but the greens were in great shape and the course was well maintained. I will definitely play there again and recommend it as one of the better courses in Charleston.
we will be baaack
beautiful course, nice smooth greens, lindsey in the pro shop was very nice, only complaint was a couple of the tee boxes were a little beat up. had a great day on a great/beautiful course.
Great layout!
The employees in the pro shop and starter were exceptional. The course was fun and challenging. My only criticism would be the lack of grass in fairways - pretty sparse on some holes. Look forward to next time.
Had a great time. The course was a little busy but its all good.
Wescott is a great course for the money. It gets a little busy with the High School Golf Team playing, but they usually let you play through.

Played here on Columbus Day course was Quiet had an 1140 teed off @ 1030 front nine was average black robin back was better, oak good bang for your dollar in the charleston area wher golf is not inexpensive
Very good value and pace of play
Called ahead to tell staff we had been stuck in traffic due to open bridge, and that we would arrive late. When we got to course 30 minutes late, we were greeted with a smile and our reservation del was honored. Plan on playing here again.
A great "go-to" course!
Never a challenge booking tee times. Greens and fairways are always in good shape. The tee boxes are a bit dry from time to time, however the courses are in good shape overall. Never experienced slow play, and with 3 courses, they are always able to get you in.
The customer service of the staff was superior and course was excellent.
From the time I arrived to the time we finished the entire staff exhibited superior customer service. The course was excellent shape I couldn't ask for anything more. If you are in Charleston, SC you must play one or all of the three courses at Wescott. I will return on my next visit to Charleston.
